Did I gety a good deal Weatherby Mark V 270 WBY

I have searched everywhere online and cant find this exact gun or a good price.

I got a Weatherby Mark V made in japan .270 WBY MAG, Stainless Steel w/ synthetic walnut stock. for $525 Stock is almost perfect couple small nicks.

Theirs no other numbers on the rifle aside from the serial number. Anyone shed any light?

Pics to follow

Closest thing I could find is this gun. But mine is stainless steel and has a muzzle break.

Buy a reloading kit and reload the ammo you buy!

Sad to say, these days, I only buy a gun which I have plenty of brass for. It really sucks to have a gun you can't find ammo for anymore. (Example, 10mm Handguns -- the ammo is avail, but hard as hell to find these days).

Thats one option the only bad thing is that even the brass for a Weatherby mag round is pretty expensive when compared to your every day winchester or remington rounds. I'm not sure why but my guess is maybe cause of the belted mag case cause thats really the only thing that makes it stand out different.

Winchester 300 Win Mag is a belted case also, and its not that expensive.

It comes down to how much of the ammo is sold. There isn't lines of people looking for the weatherby mag round.

If it is a Mk V, then it may be worth more than $525 in excellent condition, albeit that is the cheapest stock offered for that model. The Accumark Synthetic is the next step up, then the 2 tone walnut stock. Weatherby is known for their stocks and their stout cartridges. So the cheap stock is considerably less desirable than the Walnut stock.

The Vanguard is the low level Weatherby, a great rifle still, and it is about that new with plastic stock.

270 Weatherby is stout medicine. You can load a 130gr bullet to 3500fps. To compare, 270 Winchester shoots 130gr at 3100fps, and the 270 WSM is 3300fps with 130gr. Did it come with a muzzle break. You might want one if you shoot it much. It can kill an elk or bear easily.
