Bought a machine gun.

Finally...

Got my form 4s, trust documents, and money order sent out yesterday to the ATF's P.O. box in Georgia.

Paid my dealer already, but now I have to play the waiting game

Anyways, heres a few pics of the gun I bought. Its a m10 made in Powder Springs Georgia (the original macs) in 45acp. Should make a good little blaster, and a fun first machine gun.

I did not buy the suppressor featured in the pic, as my dealer told me its an old ass sionics with the dated "wipe" design. He said I should buy a more modern can. Ill start looking around for one soon.

Gosh this will be a long couple of months.

Congrats man!

Should be a fun gun. Why choose the .45 over the 9mm?

Its what my dealer had in stock, lol.

I was tired of looking around for exactly what I wanted, and my dealer told me he had this in. The original Powder Springs guns are supposed to be well made, and I got a pretty good deal.

Also, once I saw this, I was sold!

You can convert the 45 macs to shoot 9mm, and even 22lr!

Oh yes, macs are some of the cheapest machine guns a regular guy like you or me can buy.

An m16 will run about 12-13k, whereas a nice mac can be had for around 3k. I paid $3100 for mine, but I have seen a few for lower out of state (I didnt want to mess with an out of state NFA transfer).

Ill bet im one of the only 21 year olds in the US to own a machine gun

I didnt realize there was that much of a price gap. I dont think that a full auto m16 is worth that much to me honestly. I do see the value in what you bought though. Should make for a super fun blaster. Almost makes me want to liquidate some of my collection to buy one, I just dont think I would shoot it often enough to justify it yet.

Yeah I hear you. Lets just say that I had a much bigger collection before I got the itch to buy a full auto

Hopefully its worth it. Also, macs are great because they are modable like an AR. They can use different uppers and whatnot, and can be entered in subgun competitions. Alot of guys put the LAGE max11 uppers on them, which IMO looks badass-

Once the transfer goes through, ill bring it to a GTG and let you write your name in a wall or something

That upper looks sick! I looked at the web site and that slow fire uper looks really interesting.

You keep putting thoughts in my head .... before I know it I will be submitting form 4s also. I think I will likely buy a suppressor first though.

I wouldnt turn down an opertunity to shoot a machine gun
I havent had the chance to fire in auto since the military.

Lol, this site has a few NFA guys now, and the number seems to be growing every few months.

And I will definitely take it to a range GTG in the future, just need to find a place where they allow full auto.

CTD had one for about the same price back in August. The guy I normaly deal with was trying to talk me into it when I stopped in to pick up my 3 suppressors. My wife will let me get away with a lot but a full auto subgun may have been the straw that broke her.

I am thinking of SBR'ing an AR15 in 9mm and using my current 9mm suppressor on it. Would be awesome with a super short barrel and the suppressor.

Those are fun guns to shoot

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pB29YxVEkoA

If it shoots anything like that mac 11, you better have several hundred rounds ready to spray.. Without a suppressor that mac 11 shoots twice as fast.

Oh yeah, and shooting a mac one handed like in the movies...bullshit

I was thinking about getting a mac myself, but I really want a belt fed gun... Maybe next year.

LOL! Yeah the m11s I have seen blow through a mag very quickly. I will definitely be getting a slow fire upper for my m10.

Nice gun dude!

My dad recently bought some land that had a large barn and inside i found a Sterling SMG and a Street Sweeper 12g shotgun, unfortunately both were unregistered and i had to turn them over to the ATF for destruction!

Damn dude, that is crazy!

How do you get in touch with someone to turn them in? Did you just call the local PD?

And I hope you "accidentally" clicked off a few rounds first

Uauslly just notify ATF of the situation. Cut them up, save the parts to sell and give them the receiver pieces.

Just got an update.

I had no idea how easy is was to inquire about NFA transfer statuses. Heres how it went-

ATF Employee: NFA
Me: Yes I am calling to check on a transfer status
ATF Employee: Serial number?
Me: uhhhh XXXXXXXXXX
ATF Employee: Name?
Me: Capps
ATF Employee: It went pending yesterday
Me: Awesome, thanks!

So-
Forms sent: 2-5-10
Went Pending: 3-18-10

I dont know when the money order was cashed, but I went to the post office and submitted a money order inquiry so I can get a better time line. Ill bet the form 4 gets to my dealer before the money order inquiry gets to my mailbox, lol.

Hey guys, guess what....

I am picking it up on Saturday

4 months on the forms mailbox to mailbox.

Sent the on 2-5, my dealer just called me and said he got them today on 6-10. I am so happy that I just might pretend to shoot some terrorists before I go to bed.

Ok, dumb question here, but is that supposed to be a fold down stock? Is it supposed to be for your shoulder? Looks awfully short/pointless.

The stock actually telescopes out of the gun and the little thing on the back folds down, like this-

It was... I was the one filming..

That upper without a supressor shoots insanely fast. When I first saw him do It, that video, I called bs also(I edited the video before said it outloud) He did it again and I still find it hard to beleive. The supressor slows it down a good deal. He now has a slow fire upper that is much more enjoyable to shoot.

I should be going back out to his place this weekend to get more video. He is now a FFL 01/03 Class 3 dealer also in the Waco Area.
