HELLZ yeah!

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land." Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said,"Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promised Land." Now Obama has stolen your shovel..., taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

Jackson Armory over by the SMU campus has more than a few of those rifles and I was wondering if they are any good. With the $300 rebate I may just snag one.

This rifle is supposed to be the shit from what I understand.

I think they are more like 1500.00+ normally.

They are excellent rifles and extremely accurate. The only downside is that they eject casings with such force that it marrs the finish on the side of the rifle near the ejection port. If you want an all around tough and accurate 5.56 rifle and don't care about nicks in the finish, then this is a hell of a deal.

That was the 516 they did the article on not the 556. The 516 is an AR based platform and supposed to come in at around $1100.

I did, I bought the Sig 556 swat, out the door it was $1699 so $1399 after rebate, not bad. Now I need to figure out what optics to get.

I shot the SBR Sig 556 at the river w/ Matt and it was holy shit loud. But other than that, just like an AR-15 (of course).

Eh, not worth it IMO. For $1000 I'd consider it.

Here are pics of the nics in the finish around the eject port. Bothers some people and others could care less. This is by far the most accurate AR style rifle I have ever shot.

And here's the whole gun.

at 100 yards any AR no matter how terrible it is should be able to group. I've put together some bargain bin AR's and all of them performed very well. With the Sig you're buying exclusivity and reliability essentially. In my experience I've never had a properly built AR jam on me in my life. But AK-74's.... well you can ask the owner - Mr. Fiux.

Its an EOTech sight on top... but on the side is just a swivel flash light mount (with no light in it, in this pic - no laser on this wepon) It usually holds a streamlight strion LED. Bad ass light for the money!!
