NFA question

...about hunting with a suppressor.

Sounds like an easy one. Can you hunt with a suppressed rifle?

I am watching this youtube clip of these guys hunting boar with a DPMS .308 and a thermal NV scope. Every first round out sends the boar packs scattering. I wonder what a suppressed rifle would do at the same ranges.

It is ABSOLUTELY AGAINST THE LAW to hunt any GAME ANIMAL with a Silencer or any machine gun. It is in the Texas Outdoor Annual. (A Hog is not a game animal)

FYI: CALL THE LOCAL GAME WARDEN before you do this. Tell them what you are going to do and when. This will clear you from being accused of being a Poacher. Game wardens frown upon someone hunting at night with a silencer. So give them advanced warning.

Good advice.

Also, I would imagine that a suppressor on an ar10 would still be pretty loud. I imagine that it would still send the hogs running.

true, a suppressed AR-15 with subsonic .300 whisper rounds would work great....
