AR pistol laws

I have a ar pistol build and I was curious. Can I put a 6 position stock on it legally? or does that make it a SBR?

Makes it an SBR and requires tax stamp at that point.

Yup.

Or you can go out and buy the AR-15 rifle... If you are deep in the woods, you can "Play with your pistol a little" with the help of your rifle. Just come out of the woods with the rifle being a rifle, and the pistol being a pistol.

Seems a lot of folks on here don't like them, but I think it would be fun to tinker with. You should go for it...

If I was to go through the trouble of getting a tax stamp i'd like to get a suppressor!

My lower is stamped "pistol" I was told it had to be registered as a pistol to be legal. You couldant just take any lower and turn it into a pistol. Is this true?

Yep

I just think an AR pistol is a waste. Its not like you can conceal it, and it's freaking huge.

Ar pistols are the loudest guns I have ever heard. When wearing ear protection it sounds like a regular AR.

I see all your points about the disadvantages for everyday use or a duty tactical weapon for law enforcement. Its definitely a weapon that is for a specialized situation such as a Level III personal body guard. I believe it would be difficult getting in and out of an armored limo/suv with a full size M4 AR-15. Where an AR pistol may foot the bill for a lot of firepower in a compact package, plus its definitely better choice over an UZI or MP5. I could conceal it with a single point sling along my side wearing my leather jacket... You have to admit it would work for that reason.
