Baron's lever action marlin

Baron got in contact with me a few weeks ago about his grandfathers old Marlin lever action needing some TLC. We did a color change to dark walnut and a refinish. Here's how it ended up looking.

I always liked these rifles, lightweight and convenient for hunting.

That looks great CJ!
I love my 336, especially since I tried the LEVERevolution rounds. Traditional 30-30 rounds can't even come close.

Same here. Got my first deer w/ a Marlin .30-30.

CJ, It doesn't "need" any work, but how good are you with wood repair? I have an old Browning Citori that somehow got a deep gouge in the handguard. I'm not ready to do anything about it, but is that up your alley?

Damn, that's a great looking gun. Love the walnut tint! Great job.

What's the inlay at the grip? Maple?

Very off subject;

You need your gear, cheapest I know of for everything is `~450 plus shipping.

Per car, the entry fee is $500. Each driver is $100, minimum of 4, max of 6. Each driver needs a license at $50. Each car needs to rent a transponder, $50.

That is the entry fee, then you need the car. Max of $500 spent obtaining and getting the car prepped for racing. Then you need good tires, wheels, brakes, harness, fire extinguisher, and most of all, roll cage. ( this has no spending limit as it is safety) I think Precision Racecraft was looking for something like $1000-1500 depending on what the cage needs.

I traded a laptop for a Marlin 336 in full camo. It was factory camoed, and I have never found another one like it. I sold it thinking I would never use it, now wish I would have hung on to it.

On side note I have my dad's old Benjamin air rifle that needs refinishing. What would something like that run?

yes, a lot of the work I have done revolves around repair/fab on heavily damaged stocks, I would like to see it in person to have an idea what needs to be done. If the damage is on checkering it will be considerably more difficult.

feel free to text me if you have questions about a gun or some work done. My typical turnaround time is 1.5 wks, depending on the amount of work done. Right now i'm not doing any hot bluing, I will start back up this summer for that.
