My family.... (of revolvers)

Thought I'd just post up a group shot.

Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum
Ruger GP100 .357 Magnum
S&W 642 Airweight .38+P
S&W Model 65-3 .357 Magnum (first issued police duty gun)
S&W Model 686 (just acquired)

Isn't that a good looking family?

I know it's a low quality shot, but I didn't feel like dragging out the Nikon D700 for this portrait. I used a 1999 Sony Mavica MC-CD1000...

There is acutally a old B&W pic at police training of a guy in a police uniform wearing a cowboy twin revolver setup. It's freaking cool.

Nice collection, I once owned a S&W 686-6 .44 Mag., it was a very good gun. I had to get rid of it, I was shooting it at the range with 240 grain SMJ and by the 3rd shot I felt a sharp pain in my right thumb area. After the 4th, 5th and final round, the pain grew worse, I couldn't shoot it anymore. I had to go to the doctor the next day and it turns out that fucking gun broke my hand.

I'd like to have that gun.

The most brutal handgun I've ever shot was a .500 S&W Magum loaded with hot home-made rounds. I shot the 5 rounds and gave it back to the owner. I'll never shoot it again.

Yeah I never should have sold it. Though I bought a new Sig. in .357 when they first were introduced, I was the first kid on the block with the new Sig. I should have never sold it niether. I couldn't imagine shooting a S&W .500, lol!

I love my Glock 32 though, it's very lightweight and deadly accurate, my son couldn't believe the grouping I was getting straight out of the box.

That .500 S&W is brutal!

I have always wanted a Sig .357. I have a buddy that bought one and brought it and a chronograph out to the river. He was using some 125 gn Corbon rounds and was getting almost 1600 fps!

I just went through 50 rounds of .357 magnum in mine (S&W 686) along with at least another 50 rounds of .38 spl at the range on Monday. I still like revolvers over semi-autos for some odd reason.

I'd like semiautos a lot more if I didn't have to chase brass.

I guess I should have been more specific, I was at the range for awhile shooting different guns with my buddy. Also my gun had the old style wooden grips that just clamped on the frame, I should have bought a Hogue wrap around grip, but everytime I shot it the frame of the pistol was really uncomfortable. And them finally it broke my hand, so fuck off! lol

Only because you almost have as many revolvers (in the pic) as I have guns period.

I guess you do have a few years head start on me. I just started buying firearms in 2003, but didn't get anything in my current collection until late 2006.

I think a big factor in why I prefer revolvers is I tend to shoot my best using double action. That being said, someday I want to get a Sig .40 cal DAK semi-auto. Just need to save some money for it first.

I took it to the GTG at Alpine today. It is now my favorite gun. What a great grip and feeling. The trigger is like glass. I would take that .357 Magnum over any other gun in my list.

I love it that much. If they would let me strap it on at work, my S&W .40 would be gone in a heartbeat. It got more than a few looks at the range while shooting full .357 Magnum loads. It was FUN!

Yea, that was funny as shit. I asked her if she wanted to shoot it thinking damn well she'd say no, but she stepped right up to the plate and ran a cylinder through it.

Patrick ran some rounds through the Kimber TLE/RLII and was standing back in the cage. One of the .45 brass went down her terts and I offered to retrieve it

She wasn't the best lookin' thing, a tad on the thick side, but she was cute. She had some nice terts.
