Ralphs range in Tom Bean

I know they are set up with an honor box so this seems like a stupid question but since its a drive for me....do they have hours or a gate that they close at dark or on holidays? the wife and I are doing our CHL this weekend and would like to do a little shooting beforehand. My only free time is really tomorrow and Friday. I guess I would need to throw together a target, and in that case I need to run to the HD!

thanks for any tips

My buddy from work lives out there. He says it's pretty nice, hardly anybody out there everytime he goes. Just has a little drop box you put your money in.

No gate. I wouldn't go out there after dark, though.

thanks for the replies...I don't want to go after dark, just didn't know if they would be closed for the holidays. I will try to hit them up in the next two days. Academy was all out of my brass today so I might have to check again tomorrow

Just remember its a big open field and no membership. Most of the time there's nice people out there, but I've been there with some real jokers.

We will be going back out that way when it gets nicer I'm sure

Where are you taking the class?

There was a lady in the CHL class we took (12/29/09 in Sherman) who was a Mayor and I heard Tom Bean being mentioned.

She was a really nice person too. Very cool and laid back, easy to talk to.

I took my class in Denton. it was very good and a hell of price for it I thought. we took the test and everything in Denton then went to Quail Ridge for the firing portion. I learned a lot and had a good time. Now to save up for a good Carry pistol and I will head back out to Tom Bean when it warms up some.

You should head over to Red River Firearms in Sherman sometime. Not "too" far from you. It's really a nice [indoor] range and the people are great.

Hell yea dude, what Cobrajet said, if you ever wanna make it out to Red River Firearms in Sherman, i'd be willing to come up there and let ya handle/shoot some of mine.

That is awesome, I had no idea that place was there. I have a buddy that is living in Sherman while his is in Air Traffic Controller school, that would definitely fill some down time one weekend!

We are still going to go out to Ralph's though, I would like to try out some of my 5.56 tracer and some interesting shells for his shotgun.
