Leads on a Ruger .22 pistol?

Been wanting a .22 pistol for a while and think I'm going to pull the trigger (figuratively speaking) soon on a Ruger. Didn't really care for the Sig trigger. Walther might be more than I want to spend. And I've always a Ruger Mk. II/III since I was a kid. Any idea where to find one locally and what they run?

Pretty sure the MkII and III are more then a P22, but would be my choice in auto rimfire pistols.

Jose,

I have looked at a few at the gun shows and they tend to be all over the place from $275 to $500. It really depends on which one you want, which barrel, length of barrel, and which show.

PM what exactly you are looking for and I will keep an eye out, and give you a call if I find it.

The Ruger or Walther would be your choice?

Just a black, short barrel Mk II or III, preferably a .22/45

Ya, I've heard about the difficulty cleaning them. I can deal with it though.

The Ruger would be my choice. I had the Walther and got rid of it. It was a fun little gun to sit and shoot, but was inaccurate as hell and was too picky about what I shot through it.

i picked up a ruger mk II target with a 6 7/8" slab barrel a while back. it was used, i think $325 from gun masters in plano. i love the thing and it's about all i can afford to shoot the hell out of these days.

breaking it down isnt bad at all. dont let that keep you from buying it.

I'd say the same thing about my dad's Ruger 22.

You can't go wrong with any of Ruger's 22 pistols. You'll pay through the nose for one though, depending on which one you want. My wife and I looked at purchasing one a while ago, but we decided to wait a while. A good Mark III with adjustable sights and all that was as much as the 38 special I was wanting and I couldn't convince myself to drop the bucks on it.
