Vickers are cool, but if I ever buy a watercooled it'll be a M1917a1

That is pretty neat. How does the water pumping system work on these things? Obviously there is no electricity, so is the pump recoil operated somehow?


I never realized how reasonable some old watercooled beltfeds actually are in price. I figured they would be in the 20k range, but I saw one on subguns for around 10.

The cans are for reuse of water. The water in the jacket heats up and creates steam, some is burned off the rest gets condensed and runs down the hose to teh can to be reused.

Maxims and vickers are generally cheap. Typically, your 1917s and Colt factory water cooled guns will be in the low 20k to 30 depending on all the accessories etc.
