I got into a position to help my parents out of a financial situation, but I had to sell my first AR to do so. I had over $1000 in it and sold it plus 500 rounds of ammo for $900. I took a loss of about $400. At that time, it didn't take but a couple of days to get it sold.
I DID manage to build my current AR for about $700, but it doesn't have the nice 4 rail freefloat handguard, the Ergo pistol grip, or the Gear Sector single point sling that the other one had.
From experience, don't sell it if you can keep from it. If nothing else, see if a friend or relative will hold it as collateral while you pay them back over a short period of time.
I hate to see anyone sell a firearm, especially one that may soon be needed!
