Auction with AR-15s...Question.

There's an auction happening tomorrow up here and I noticed they have 2 AR-15's.

I checked them out and seem to be fine. No blemishes or scratches on the outside. Magazines been used, and can see use in the chamber and bolt. Otherwise, pretty clean.

Reference the pic. Upper rifle is a Stag Arms and the lower rifle is a DPMS. I would assume the whole gun is from the companies and not an assemble kit gun, but I don't know what to look for to find out.

Any thoughts? What'd be a good bid (obvioulsy, cheaper is better, but what is too much)? I know Stag Arms reputation, but not DPMS.

DPMS is a good rifle.
I personally would not go over $700-$750 on either.

What this guy said.....a used DPMS is still a good damn rifle...but I think $800 would be my top dollar on one. And that's if it still looks like NIB.

BTW, where's this auction at?

Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to kill them.

Dunno if I'm gonna bid now...just got informed I'm going on a business trip in November...to Clearwater, FL. Might have to use the cash for taking the family for a cheap vacation!

They are both not factory assembled rifles. Doesn't mean a whole lot but certainly brings the price down. They are both A2 style uppers meaning the carry handle is permanently attached. Which is the least desirable version. They are also both 20" barrels. So essentially it would be difficult to get 700-750 for them resale. They do have the quad rails which can run between 50 and 200 so that does increase the value. The DPMS vs Stag lower doesn't mean much since you really don't know what model upper they are. You also don't know much about the lower parts kit. They have the 4 position Model 1 stock so that could mean they are Model 1 uppers. They are plenty quality but if you pay much more than 700 for them your probably not getting a good deal. The AR market is now terrible and you can once again get new AR's for under 700 in a much more desirable setup.

Good luck with the auction
