I like the NC Star my brother has... they're less than $100 for almost all their models.

Check out www.primaryarms.com for a red dot, his M3 style is $69.00.

The guy's name is Marshall and he imports these direct from China. I don't remember his screenname but he is pretty popular on AR15.com. I put an M3 style red dot and 5x magnifier on my budget build rifle and they work very well. Metal case, does not feel cheap at all. I am personally not a fan of Bushnell stuff after buying a laser boresighter that was/is absolute crap.

I decided to try one of the vortex strikefire red dots. So far so good. I've put a little over 300 rounds with mine and no problems so far. Has held zero the doubler that comes with it is kind of fun to mess with but thats about it.

I hope one day they will make one with a 2 moa dot. It also comes with a mount that like i said has held zero so far.

It sure beats irons and ive had some fun blowing some bunny rabbits up at the farm with it.

Here is a pic of mine.

What you might call solitude is something i look forward to.
