Wal-Mart to stop selling Firearms and Ammo?

Buddy of mine tells me that Wal-Mart is phasing out their Ammunition and Firearms section of sporting goods over a period of time. Anbody heard this or can substantiate it?

they already have been making a killing........so i really doubt it.
They also already had a huge backlash from customers when they bent over to the left and reduced a lot of what they sold.
I'd be EXTREMELY surprised with their customer base and sales of guns/ammo that this would ever happen.

Mansfield does.
Waxahachie does.
Ennis does.

That's less than 60 miles.

1 Walmart in every town sells firearms. I have not seen one that doesn't sell ammo.

I talked with the gun guy at Walmart about this. He said they only kept the highest volume stores in the metroplex with them.

Rockwall , Mesquite (Beltline and 80) , and one more I can't think of now.

Quinland, Naco, and a few others still got guns, but they are mostly low end rifles, mostly in .30-06...they are also the ones without severe ammo shortages.
