hog hunt, 454 casull

Took my buddy out to east tex(marion county)for a camp/work/ pig hunt trip.Sat morning I shoot a boar with my 308 around 9am, he heads out at 12:45 and at 1pm gets his first hog ever with my ar15, then sun morning I get my first handgun hog at 25 yards.454 casull did the trick, complete pass through, hit him in the neck/shoulder came out the other side.
First hog(308)

Buddies hog

Handgun hog

Entrance wound

He is hooked now to say the least. We had pigs squealing every morning and evening whole time we were there, fri afternoon to sunday afternoon. Skeeters were terrible but ole thermacell was a life saver. First time handgun hunting and its pretty awesome, kinda reminded me of my first hog kill with a bow. Might leave the 308 in the safe and try the pistol for deer this year.

its still "we the people"right?

Hadnt been hog hunting yet this year. We did however have a large sow walk up about 2 feet from our tent about 12 midnight on the dove lease. That was a trip.

Nice Taurus, I had a .44 mag raging bull that had to be my favorite wheel gun ever.

Looks like a fun trip too!

I like that mounting system. I put a B-square mount on my 41 Mag Blackhawk and it slides all over.

Excellent shot.

I have this one 275-300 pound boar showing up at one of my feeders between 10pm to 3am. I have some pics of him chowing down with a few racoons. He'll be my next hit with the .308 in the near future.

I've found the best method for hunting hogs is an industrial zip tie and good running shoes.
