Has anyone done this before? I'm tempted but when I see that they have imperfections I'm curious how bad are they?

The imperfections are usually just cosmetic blemishes ranging from minor to really ugly. Shouldn't affect the function of the rifle at all.

That seems about in line with buying a lower receiver and building on it with a rifle kit.

I knew this would happen
I tried to convince friends not to jump on the obama gun scare wagon and spend 1000+ on a AR. It didn't stop them.
I told them to just wait.
Honestly didn't think it would take almost a whole year. I told them 6 months and we'd probably be in the clear.
Their loss, for a basic AR !
