quality replacement mags for my para-ord?

well, the para and i got off to a rocky start. after getting it back from the manufacturer it seems to have proven itself a reliable piece. I am looking to get some higher quality mags for it though. anyone know where i should begin my search? para big hawg .45 14rd mags is what i am looking for. the ones it came with are pretty much garbage. thanks.

god bless.

Para would be the best. Try CDNN Investments.

STI, a high-end 1911 maker, uses Para mags in their 2011, a wide-body double stack 1911.

STI makes mags that should work

http://www.stiguns.com/cart/aboutmags.html

Dawson Precision also makes mags that should work

Down side to a high cap 1911 is your mag choices are super limited and really expensive.

Ive been looking to upgrade from my Glock 36 .45 to either a Para Slim Hawg or a Colt Defender Compact 45. Ive shot both pistols but I couldnt make a buying decision on one over the other. How do you like the Para you have?

Btw this is my CC gun.

i have the big hawg, 14+1 double stack .45 i had to send it back because the mags kept falling out. i got it back a week later and it has since been flawless. i CC my glock 27, my LCP, or a taurus .38 i am partial to my glocks, so i wont tell you to switch from yours! haha.

god bless.

STI mags don't work in a Para. STI mags are compatible with Stayer Voigt Wide bodies but the para mags are a totally different tube.

If I remember right the para mag catch from the factory is plastic. Your best bet would be to replace it with a steel one from Ed Brown/ EGW/ Mc Cormick. IF your mag tubes are true just try putting in a different follower and spring and that might stop your slide lock problems. At one point I ran a Para P-16 limited in USPSA and had 20rd mags that would run reliably with the mag kits from Gram's but I always cut the slide stop off of my competition guns so the gun wouldn't go to slide lock. If I ran my gun empty that was a mistake on my part.

It happens to be a well thought out and reasoned dissertation on drug use and a lyrical cost/benefit analysis of various kinds of drugs, drawing the conclusion that beer is the best of them all.

Palu, you really should consider a Glock. They're indescructible and totally reliable. Like a Ford with Chevy parts.
