What to buy

I was wanting some opinions on what kinda of ammo to buy. Have a brand new Sig 556, and I am dying to shoot it. For now mostly just some serious plinkin going to be going on.

What do I avoid ammom wise? was going to make a BIG purchase on the ammo... 200-500 rds. Thats why I am asking.

Heard wolf was bad (dirty)... No idea....

Whatever you do, find out what your choice of ranges allows you to shoot. Some do not allow steel core ammo, FMJ, etc. Find that out first, and go from there.

Hey Lyle,
I have shot a BUNCH of Wolf brand ammo thru mine and had no issues at all.
If you are gonna shoot a bunch of rounds, buy the cheap stuff. You will just have to clean it more often.

I thought the Sig was piston driven? If so, it won't get as hot or be as dirty as a AR-15.

Federal Power Shok is great bulk ammo. Prices are coming down.

I figure the places I am going to shoot are Gibson's and Targetmaster. Not too sure of their rules other than what the Post of the local ranges says.

Whats the best way to buy bulk? Gun show? if they have any? Mail order? Was a click away from ordering some Blackhills ammo from Midwayusa.com.
