Who's Dove Hunting? CJ 5.0 & Mr. Fiux R-U-N?

Who is going and when do you guys want to go? Maybe we should have a G2G? What do you guys think? Like the Sept. 4th-6th weekend? Better get your hunting licenses! The season is 2 months so theres time for a few G2G's! So start practicing skeet/5 stand at the range and save you change for ammo...

You Minimum Needs:
Hunting License Dove North Zone
Shotgun w/ imp cyl choke, modified
Mojo dove Decoys
Shotgun shells (A lot cause you'll miss A Lot) #'s 6,7.5, 8 shot
Cooler & large ziplock bags for birds
A way to get there: Truck, SUV or ATV for semi-rough terrain

Do you know how to get there? Many times you can invite people to go but its a bit of a drive, so they don't show. It will be fun and the more responsible hunters we have the better our odds will be. The birds will always fly away from you and you need other hunters on the opposite side of the fields to push them back toward you. I'm sure you all know this.

Yeah it can be scary, but the opposite side of the field out seems like a mile away. Nothing to worry about...

I would definitely be in if you don't mind someone going you haven't met. Although I need to go to Alpine and do a little practice. The birds usually have an advantage over me!

Never wrap it up, never pull out. Just grind up the morning after pill in her scrambled eggs at sunrise, she'll appreciate that you made her breakfast.

I have never shot skeet or doves and I'm confident.

I actually have decided to use my strength, so I will be hunting doves with my ar.

Well you may hit more with your ar than I can with a shotgun! Well I have fun anyways.

I usually get the combo liscene. That will cover your hunting and fishing. The only thing you need to get is a duck stamp if you plan on doing any duck hunting. Now if you don't do any fishing then get a resident hunting.

That resident liscense still cover all your deer and turkey tags. And it covers your dove and quail. The only thing it doesn't cover is fishing. So if you don't do any fishing the resident liscense is what I would get. Now I never heard of the small, medium, large lease liscenses.

yeah me either, that's what I don't understand, because we are going to be on a very large lease... is that a license for hunters, or a license for lease owners. I'm guessing it's for owners. But a resident hunting license does cover doves?

Yes it does cover doves. All the leases I have been on all I got was the combo liscense. Its more expensive but it pretty much cover everything but your duck stamp. And the leases range from 900 acres to 50,000 acres in van horn and all I needed was the combo or resident liscene

I know how you feel. I'm still looking for a lease, but for now I'm a mule for my dad's friend that has 80 acres in fairfield and he lets me hunt there for free. But seeing a deer there is slim to none cause it's some thick shit.

When we were there last, I saw some extremely large deer on a regular basis. On at least 5-6 occasions we ran into some while driving down trails.

Blacksnake, Chopped 54 you have the invite. A question stated earlier about around will either be by truck or ATV. The main field is down in a valley and the road is literally rocky! On the day it can be either Sept. 4th/5th and 6th. I was leaning toward everyone coming out early Friday and Sat. morning (6-7am). We would all meet up at the Walmart on FM 3099/ Hwy 180 on both days.

Well I am definitely in. I have a 4x4 truck or I can bring a 4 wheeler. Sounds like fun and I cannot wait!

Never wrap it up, never pull out. Just grind up the morning after pill in her scrambled eggs at sunrise, she'll appreciate that you made her breakfast.

it would need to be a rather hefty suspension to clear some of the ascents/decents on the trails, some of them are a little hairy. And on some trails, especially by the salt flats, im not sure if one would even clear.
