Found an affordable wheel gun...opinions needed

Anyone here ever hear of, own, or shoot an EAA Windicator in .357?

The pawn shop I work next door to has one that appears to be NIB for $250. I've been looking at getting a revolver, partly out of curiousity and partly out of a desire to have a more varied collection.

Anywho....the reviews I've read online are a mixed bag, some love it, and others hate it. With that in mind, I thought I'd pose the question to the illustrious minds and expertise that can be found at DFWStangs.net.

So, lets hear it.

BTW....by affordable, I mean cheap, lol.

Also, right next to it, is a Taurus .357 (forgot the model). Slightly higher price, but would some say that it is better quality?

Nevermind.....after handling it I decided that I didn't like the weight of it, or the DA trigger pull. Way too stiff.

I get my fair share of witnesses in to fix for FTF/FTE's. I wouldn't recommend them because of that, but i've never seen one of their revolvers.

I would have went for the Taurus. What is your price range and what are you looking for i.e. snub nose, or 4" barrel?

I looked at the witness wheel guns too, just hadnt had the time to go put my hands on one yet...

I too am looking for a cheaper wheelgun for a backup/truck gun...

EAA doesn't manufacture them; they import them. Witnesses are manufactured by Tanfoglio; the revolvers are manufactured by somebody else - Weirarch, I think?

If you want a good cheap .357 or 44 magnum, keep your eye out for a used Dan Wesson. An excellent pistol, rugged, decent double action, but they just don't command the price of a Colt or S&W.

True that. Very good guns. Only problem is they're really bulky. Concealed carry with one would be tough, even a 2" barrel.

I'm not really actively looking, I just keep my eyes open when I go into pawn shops and such for a decent deal on a decent gun.

I'd rather have a 4", but a snubby wouldn't be bad. Just something to use as a BUG or dedicated truck gun. Also, like I posted earlier, I wouldn't mind having something to diversify the collection a little bit.

The EAA/EEA Windicator was $250, the Taurus was $350.

Dan wesson, S&W's, some colts can be found for pretty decent deals. I picked up my last colt revolver for 250. Just keep an eye out, deals are there.
