going out of state, chl question

i will be going up to missouri for a couple of days to visit some family(driving of course). i know that i can carry in oklahoma and missouri, but what laws are different there vs here? i will not be doing any partying or anything up there so i don't have to worry about going to bars or anything like that. just going up there to visit some family and that's about it. pretty cut and dry.

thanks guys

I visit missouri regularly, pretty much the same as here, don't let it become visible, be careful about printing, and only use it to kill people and you should be fine.

I have a somewhat similar question. Im stationed in colorado right now.
To get a CHL in colorado, all i have to be is active duty. No class, nothing.

So, will Texas honor my CO CHL? i could get it here in 3-4 days, then when i move back to TX in 12 months, just keep my CO CHL. Seems too easy to be legit.

Sounds like a slightly gray area, but I would say you would be in trouble if it ever came up that you obtained it there but are living here. It might be easy to get it transferred since there is reciprocity. Might be worth checking into.

I was gonna get mine when I lived up in MN, but it was alot of hassle and since TX has no reciprocity, it just wasn't worth it.

When you become a resident in Texas no state will reconize your Colorado CHL. I guess you are in Fort Carson. I am down in Crestone (SW of the Springs) beating the heat for a few weeks.

Also, check all states in between MO and TX if you are driving.

I don't think that CO offers a non resident licence. The do honor the Texas CHL though. Perhaps you couls start the paper work and classes for Texas now since you are a legal Texas resident. You might have to drive down to the Texas panhandle to find a class. Or does Texas even require an active military person to take the class?

Wayne, im pretty sure we have to take the class too. Thats what was so cool about CO's. All it is, is paper work for active duty.
