DFW Master Ammo Price List

Jose and I had been talking about doing something like this via google docs. But, before we can get a document up for everyone to update real time, we need some information on who, where, what kind, and how much the ammo is in the metroplex - each time you guys pick up a box, stop by a list the price to help other dfwstanger's out when they are buying theirs. I'll work with everyone else to create a standardized document we can update and keep current. However you guys want to do it, type out the amount paid, or scan in a receipt. Once we get a few posts with ammo we'll get it rolling.

AMMO PRICE SPREADSHEET

Please post most recent ammunition finds and the sheet will be updated shortly.

Stealing ammo from someone with guns and ammo around them. You have balls of steel.

They also have an assload of 7.62x54R Brown Bear FMJ and SP, about 15$ per box of 20, if anyone besides me shoots that anymore.

They still have a lot of 7.62x39 Brown Bear also, not sure on the price though.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, last time I was there they still had quite a few AR-15 30rd mags, but they are 30$ each.

They have some Remington .223, but only in the 20 round boxes, 15$ each.

If you want ammo in Waco, pretty much everywhere has plenty of it

I find it shocking that there is a "shortage" in DFW

I needed a good laugh today.

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land." Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said,"Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promised Land." Now Obama has stolen your shovel..., taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

I really just have a hard time imagining that

I have never in my life not found ammo for any of my firearms. Always hit up bass pro, cabelas, walmart, academy, dicks, MGS, CTD, bachmans, etc

None of those places has any ammo?

yes they are 50 rounds. I picked up 150 .45acp tonight at wally world. Also picked a few 20 pk of Remington 55gr .223 for $8.47. I also bought some 100 rd packs of WWB .45acp for $29.97 last week.

True, I find some ammo prices REDICULAS.

Also at some stores, I see shelves empty with all sorts of hunting ammo. Really people how many boxes of HUNTING ammo do you really need? I can understand buying a lot of FMJ for plinking but why buy every box of Nosler Partition Ammo or Soft Points on the shelf for a particular caliber?

I watched someone at cabelas take every box of .308 hunting ammo off the shelf last night. I told my wife, that guy is a freaking idiot and I'm sure that guy is a BIG TIME HUNTER.. Yeah right. Everyone I knows that hunts buys 3 boxes or so (One is used to sight the gun in and the remaining boxes last YEARS.....) Plus I'm sure he had a good 700-800 dollar bill for those 20-35 boxes of ammo he threw in his cart.

For me, the hunting ammo is cheaper than FMJ. Plus if you want to go to the range, its better to walk in with non FMJ because most local ranges don't allow FMJ to plink with. I don't see the problem you describe.

Academy in Mesquite had about 4 boxes of WWB 45 acp for 41.99 yesterday.
Blazer 45 acp at 19.99 a box, there were probably about 30-40 boxes of it on the shelf, and a few boxes of monarch at 16.99 a box.

It's true. I couldn't find anything in 9mm in FW that wasn't "HydraShok" or whatever. I just found some after reading about Dick's sporting goods on here. They had 10 boxes (50 rds boxes) total in stock. This is after searching Cabela's, Cheaper Than Dirt, Wal-mart, etc.. I just came down to Austin to see my family, walked into Cabela's, walked out with 500 rds of Winchester white box and didn't even put a dent in their display. The hysteria has hit DFW like you would not believe. Austin store was pretty busy, but people aren't stockpiling.

WWB
115 gr. FMJ
100 rds
$27.99

WWB 9mm NATO
124 gr. FMJ
50 rds
$14.99

Not super-cheap, but not too bad.

could also be the political climate in austin contributing to that.

Correct, this Cabela's is about 20 miles south of Austin. As I stated, there were just as many, if not more customers (on a Sunday) than I've seen in the Fort Worth store on the weekends. People were definitely buying guns and ammo, just not excessive amounts.

Alright we have enough now. Who all wants to have access to the google doc to be able to edit and add to it? Preferably people who purchase a lot of ammo and have the initiative to update a doc when they get home.

Woot! Hopefully this will work out for everyone on the board that's looking for ammo! I've got 2 or 3 Walmarts on the way home that I can hit up so I'll be doing my part

I wouldn't mind updating it. I stop by walmart and academy looking/buying ammo at least 1-2 times a week. I don't mind writing down the prices and updating even if I don't buy any. Also, just bought 500 more rounds of blazer brass 9mm at wal-mart two days ago for 8.97!

Basically we need one other "volunteer" besides me and CJ to keep the list up to date. Everybody else can PM one of us (or all of us) to update it. I'll share out a link later today so everybody can take a look at it and offer suggestions. All it really looks like is a spreadsheet with prices and other basic information. Hopefully we can improve on it.

I would help keep it up to date. I hit up several sporting goods stores buying and pricing ammo weekly. Let me know if you want me to help.

I was up in OK and the prices were a bit higher on almost everything. Did walmart raise prices in TX or they just a little higher. Was like 15.97 for Blazer Brass .45 and 31.xx for the 100 pack WWB???

Ok...just got back from Cheaper than Dirt...

They have some Speer Gold Dot .380 for $25/50
Federal HST 9mm - $30/50
Federal HST .40 - $35/50
Federal HST .45 - $40/50

Needless to say, I didnt buy any .45. Im going to backorder from an online company at $26/box
That sucks ass, it was like 28 bucks now its $40! I think they troll boards and increase the shit once they figure out people want certain things. It is uncanny how I went one day and it was 28 and a couple days later it is 40 bucks a box.

Cool. Anyway you can run filters so you can just see the caliber you're interested in?

It'll be a work in progress and my time on it is somewhat limited because I cannot even access it from work LOL! But hopefully I can find some documentation on Google Docs that I can read off line or somewhere else online that isn't blocked by my job.

Went by the Walmart in Grapevine tonight and they were dry for pistol ammo. Walmart by my house had some 9mm, .357 Sig, 380 ACP, and .38 Special +P ammo, maybe about 10 boxes or so. Couldn't find anyone working in the department went I stopped by otherwise I might have grabbed some .38 Special to replace some of what I shot this weekend Might try going by there again tomorrow.
