So I was at a shop today looking around and found some .50BMG ammo... $5/round.

Not too bad considering what you can do with it! LOL!!!!

Looking for sponsorships for 2010 on the car above... PM for details and schedule.

I almost bought a box of 10 to use for decorating...not a good idea for office decorations at the Postal Service!

It is expensive to reload as well.

Requires special press, dies, primers, lots of powder, and big ol bullets.
The really nice bullets, the Hornady A-Max, are single feed.

Ammo boxes are pretty cheap though.

There is a guy at the shootouts I go to that let's you shoot his for 5$ a round.

My bud that has the Ramo M2 reloads his own so he has all the stuff. It's still cheaper than buying loaded ammo.

until you accumilate the QUALITY brass to reload them yes its "expensive". this is a lax word. you dont shoot 100rnds of 50 cal in a outing(minus M2, etc). even full weekend matches are 60 shots.

instead of firing 1000rnds of .223 you fire 10-20 BMG. it all depends on what you like. just blasting rounds or blasting things to pieces.

yes everything is bigger with 50 bmg. yes there are special primers, presses, etc.

you can load and shoot surplus rounds(ball,api,api-t, S-T,etc) for about a buck a round depending on the size of the bulk purchase.

brass,
primer $0.35
powder $0.50-$1.00 depending on powder used.
bullet $ 0.29 surplus or 2-4 bucks for match lathe turned ammo.

there is still no other feeling than to place 10 rnds in a 5-10"(inch) circle at 1000meters and still be able to penatrate most objects known.

they can be as pricey as you want them to be. there are deals out there but you have to look.

to each his own. but firing a 50 cal gives you and everyone around you grin from ear to ear.

HP & TQ are like SEX, you can never have enough!!!

I've wanted a .50 sniper for almost 20 years. I love hitting dimes at 100 yards with my .308.

Coke cans are childs play at 600 yards.

I've yet to shoot it at a 1k yard range, but would love to.

I drool at the thought of owning a nice .50 BMG. But, it's just not practical.

You could come out here to TacPro. They've got a 1000yd range, and they certify cops from all over texas for long-range work.

Give me a dollar.

I didnt really ever want a .50.

But then I had friends get some full auto M2s and semi M2s and now I need one. I dont care if I ever shoot it, but I need one for my gun ring to actually look cool.

I do have about 800rnd of AP, API, and Ball sitting around.

Last year Jim brought almost a third of a pallet of .50 BMG with the M2. I said he was lucky he didn't get jacked for the ammo alone!

He must have had $10k in ammo alone at today's prices!

I want to say the range fee is $15, but I don't remember. I'll get at them and let you know.
