To my fellow Texans...

there's been a lot of talk about the gun paranoia going on right now.

Until now, I haven't seen any real proof that our rights are in jeopardy. That was until I read the Obama admin's Urban Policy on the official White House website. Scroll down to the section titled Crime and Law Enforcement. SubParagraph "Address Gun Violence In Cities"

http://www.whitehouse.gov/agenda/urban_policy/

It clearly states their intent to take more of the law abiding citizens freedoms and rights away. Give it a read if you haven't already. Just thought you ought to know.

It doesn't surprise me at all. He's never met a gun control law he didn't like... he can say whatever he wants but some people see through his rehotric...

Quote:
Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

It's affecting us all. Whether you are the guy who's tired of hearing about it or the guy who's tired of empty gun store shelves and tired of price increases. What can be done? Is the NRA our only defense? I'm hoping that the NRA is doing a lot of planning right now. I also hope that the reason I don't see any public outcries from the NRA here in Texas is because the majority of our state is gun friendly and the NRA is using it's resources in areas that are more vital.

So you think that after he's out all the damage they do in those 4 years just goes away?

You guys need to join up and pay your money to these organizations who fight for these rights. Spend it to save them or spend it to panic or black market buy, up to you...

Black market buy is looking better and better every day. the organizations do need our help, but when it comes down to it, the gov't is going to do what they want regardless of who complains. The government will spin the issues until it is in thier favor. The one thing the gov't can't spin is what is stored in your safes and buried cache.

And if the United States Constitution get in their way, they'll appoint enough Supreme Court justices to sway the court's rulings in whatever way they're told. Don't think this is gonna go away in four years. Maybe in forty. Maybe never. The time to act... has already passed. The bastard is our president now.

Last weekend at the gun show there were pictures of Biden everywhere with the tag.

"I signed the most gun restricting legislation in history"

I bet he is not giving his up, being that he is an "avid gun owner".

Damn, looks like all the paranoia is slowly becoming "preparedness".

I joined the NRA last week

Not only did Biden sign the awb, Bill Clinton acknowledged that it probably would not have passed without his constant rallying behind it.

You also have the jewo duo Charles Schumer and Dianne Feinstein who wrote it. Both of which are still active Senators.

I think the only way this will stop is a Zombie Attack, or Some country invading us... But to be smart, they wouldn't it until AFTER the gov. took them all.

Why do they not get that guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens are help, not a hindrance?

Well here is the list of propsed weapoons on the ban that I picked up from AR15armory.com, this is a scary list to say the least. I sure as hell hope that this does not pass.

screw them. I'm keeping my XDm, which with its 16 round capacity, would be banned.

I also noticed this bit;

Under the proposal, the U.S. Attorney General can add any
"semiautomaticrifle or shotgun originally designed for military or
law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a
firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as
determined by the Attorney General."

That means any gun ever used for military or police duty; i.e. any 1911 style semi or just about any 12 ga..... FTL
