AR upper

Anyone on here got any of the larger caliber AR uppers that fit on the standard 5.56 lower. If so what do you have and how do you like it. Thinking of getting one to hunt pigs just not sure which one I want and was looking for a lil feed back.

I am liking the 458 Socom, but I don't know where to get one. I will be checking back here if anyone knows where/how.

I have a Rock River in 458 SOCOM and love it . Both it and the beowulf have their pros and cons. Ammo for the 458 is higher but I handload so its no big deal plus it uses the same bullets and powder as my 45-70. The kick isn't near as hard as I expected (really nothing at all). Have shot a beowulf but like the SOCOM better. Both knock the crap out of a hog. Robbie at Lonestar Wholesale usually has SOCOM's. To make sure call him and he can bring a SOCOM to Big Town gun show this weekend

I can't ever remember which one, but one of the big rounds works in standard AR mags. All you have to do is change the follower.

Give me a dollar.

The SOCOM uses standard magazine. I have never had a problem with standard magazines or Pmags.

Why those aren't in the hands of cops, instead of .223, I'll never understand.

Give me a dollar.

I also have a RRA SOCOM and love it. The thing is a lot of fun to shoot and everyone is always suprised when you let the first round go Robbie is a good source for one.. also Pete from legal transfers sell them for around 650 an upper... but i am pretty sure there is a wait.
