.357 Sig ammo...

When the hell did this ammo get this expensive, I bought 2 boxes, the bullshit brand was $38.00 and the Winchester JHP were $44.00

Makes me not even want to shoot anyone, hell if you guy's hear of me having to B-A-C on a mofo, you know he fucked up! Hell I mught have to bill his next of kin for spent brass.

So where have you been! Makes the 9mm a lot more appealing considering how little difference there is in the effect on human tissue and the ability to practice more. Reloading might be an answer but even the prices of supplies are up.

I like the .357 sig and the 10 mm even better but I like to practice often so I use the 9mm for concealed carrry purposes along with .40 and .45 for open carry.

This is the exact reason i picked up the sig p239 9mm. The money saved by buying 9mm ammo will pay for the .357/.40 drop-in barrel and mags for concealed carry.

9mm? I need energy, I personaly know several people that have been shot with 9mm and they still here, I shoot .40 cal. and I've owned a Sig 229 .357, but I hardly go to the range. I bought a new Glock 32 and I went to the range yesterday, first shot, 2 inches from the bullseye, just like riding a bicycle. I'm bitching about the price of ammo, which is out of control.

My favorite is when the bg tried to run over my friend in the sheriffs dept and he fired 2 well placed shots to the drivers side of the windshield with his 9mm and both bullets bounced off of the glass.

9mm, well maybe. Don't be misled by energy figures. It matters, but it's not everything. There are many people who have been hit by all sizes (including .50 ) that are still here. The 45 acp is an example. The energy figures aren't that impresive but out in the field they sure seem to work well. I met some guys a few years ago that worked down in South America and they just laughed about the 9mm issue, saying tell that to all the the people that died on both sides of the conflict by 9mm hits. They used Browing Hipowers by the way.

I agree with you about ammo prices. I used to shoot about 500 rds a month on my private range when ammo was cheap but I shoot a lot less nowadays. Used to just thow my brass away.

I don't know of anyone that has been hit in FTW with the .357 Magnum and survived.

It's my favorite practical round.

That's why I love wheelguns. When you have something that shoots a foot and a half flame, you gotta love it...

I think you missed the point... if you get a gun that has a 9mm conversion available, you can practice with the same gun and then carry w/ the heavy duty round.

but, the cost of .357sig ammo helped me justify my gun show purchase this weekend... got me a .45

I like my Glock 32. I carry .357 sig but put in my .40 barrel for the range. Makes it a little cheaper... but not cheap enough.

The S&W 65 is what I was issued. I bought it after we went to the crappy Baretta 92Ds. I refused to carry the Baretta and bought a S&W 4004 which I later sold and bought a 4006.

Practice with what you carry. It makes no sense to me why you would practice with 9mm when your going to carry a more powerful round like the sig.

Makes plenty of sense to me. The round isn't but a part of the whole tamale when shooting. Hand grip and draw can all be improved upon while using your carry weapon utilizing a cheaper "practice" ammunition. Why throw away money to get the same results regardless of caliber?

Winchester White Box 125 grain JHP in .357 SIG, $30.30 after tax at the Academy in Sherman (50 rounds)

FMJ at Gander around 38 bux a box

Went to WalMart the next day....FMJ around 24-26 bux a box.

Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to kill them.
