Limp wristing different handguns

You always see someone blame a misfeed or jam on "limp wristing" -- not locking your wrists when you shoot. The explanation is that the frame needs to be held still so the slide can cycle all the way back then forward to eject the spent casing and load the next round. If you are not holding the frame firmly, the frame moves back with the slide and it can't cycle properly. I still think it's hogwash since the frame won't move backwards until the slide gets to the full rear position. Anyway, the video is interesting.

Interesting.

I stovepiped a friend's custom Springfield Officer model.

He kept saying I was limp-wristing. I figured the same, but with a light powder charge not helping. These were light target loads.

Most likely within a foot of were it was aiming. I think this vid was put together by a Glock hater.

And the test with the glock only had 5 rounds? The rest of the guns had full magazines.

Not bullshit at all. If you are used to large caliber wheelguns and single shots you develop a little planned give in your release, which does not work at all with an auto, especially not a blowback or a large caliber either.

I used to have misfeeds all the time when switching from a 454 to a ruger MKII. I had to consciously rethink my follow through for a little while each time. Going back to the large bore I almost instinctively relearned everything, so it was kind of ingrained.

I'm assuming he's done the test before, and didn't want to go through a full magazine of jams. . .

Weird. I've limp wristed my Glock 21 (factory ammo), Glock 22 (hot handloads, in a Glock? Onoes! ), and Glock 29 (even hotter handloads, in a Glock!?! Onoes!!! ) just to see what would happen, and I've yet to have a failure to feed, failure to eject, stovepipe, slide fail to lock back on an empty magazine, etc.

No woman can help you with your limp-wristed-ness...

You just need to take a trip down to Oak Lawn to learn more!

the only glock I have owned that would limp wrist jam was a G33
My 21 hasn't ever
27 nope
30 nope

What the hell is the point of testing the wrong way of shooting again?
I do shoot better if i don't put a killer grip on handguns though! Biggest difference I learned for handguns.

bare holding gun up- would probably jam most any auto
limp wrist, some grip - still prob jam, because youre a girl/nonshooter
grip barely even tight, strong wrist - most accurate for me
firm grip, strong wrist - not too bad accuracy, harder to hold sights calm/steady for longer shots. By far the fastest way to shoot though.
tight grip - can't hit shit, hands can start hurting after extended shooting

79 K5 blazer, 6" lift 38x15" tires d44/12b lockers and chromoly axles ,6.2L GM diesel - Waste Vegetable Oil conversion - cross over steering,14"SAW nitrogen shocks, beefed shackles, shackle flip, winch/ bumpers, diff covers.

94 CBR 600 naked, handbraked, -1 +3 sprockets, one wheel operation mod
