Bought another rifle from Wal-Mart

I bought this rifle for my youngest:

http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firear...oading/60.aspx

It was $143.21 out the door.

The bad thing is that when we got home they had forgotten to take the trigger lock off of the gun. This was Saturday, and we left for a 430 mile trip on Sunday to see my dad.

I had to put the gun in the safe for the time being, and today went back to get them to take the trigger lock off. You'd thought that I'd committed a Capital Felony bringing the gun back into the store. I had to wait at the service desk and then be escorted out of the store.....

The reaon I didn't just go out to the garage and grab any handy power tool was to save the "oh shit" factor in case it got away from me.

The good thing is my dad gave me an old Glenfield 4x scope to put on it. My youngest now has his first rifle with an item that his grandfather has had for over 30 years.....

Oh, and if anyone is planning on buying firearms at a decent price from Wal-Mart, I was told that even the stores that are outside of the larger cities are going to quit selling guns in the near future.

The video DVR systems that Wal-Mart uses has about a 60 day turnover before it starts recording over old data.

I'm not too concerned that I'll do anything with a Marlin .22 in the next two months that might get me in trouble...

Me, too. I started learning to shoot by shooting turtles and snakes out of the pond when I was 4. at 5+ it was chasing good cajun squirrel dogs through the back woods of Louisiana. Woot!

Give me a dollar.

Anybody know where is a Walmart that sells guns near Arlington. I would love a cheap .22 riffle, and I have never seen a Ruger 10/22 that cheap!

That is not a Ruger 10/22. It is a Marlin.

Never wrap it up, never pull out. Just grind up the morning after pill in her scrambled eggs at sunrise, she'll appreciate that you made her breakfast.

I don't know how much they are now but Academy used to run 10/22's for $149 every day and $119 on sale. I have two.

The Walmart in Mansfield is close to south Arlington. It is just off of 287 and Walnut Creek.

I know they have a 10/22 on the shelf, but I don't know the price because I have one.....

I know... I want a Ruger but the Marlin is cheaper, so I may go with that.

I have 2 marlin's myself. They are great little guns.

I just called them, they want $193.00 for it...a little steep in my opinion.

I guess prices vary on their guns. I just saw a Mini 14 at the Wal-Mart in Rockwall and it was $604, which is about the normal price. But they had a Remmington 870 w/ synthetic stock for $268. I think that is a good price for the 870.

The Mini 14 is a .223 and the 10/22 is a .22 Long Rifle cartridge.

Wal-Mart typically has decent prices, then add my 10% off and it is very attractive.

I have noticed that. I guess I was expecting $150 (someone up there got my hopes up). Looks like prices have gone up though. About $185 at Academy, if I can't find one at the next gun show I will just get that one.
