Where do you keep your firearm

Ok I am thiking about purchasing a safe. Now I am not talking about your main home defense weapon... I am talking about the extra ones. Do you guys have a safe? If so where did you purchase it?

I have a Gunvault GV1000 new in the box for sale if you are looking for a pistol safe. Has electronic keypad and key also. It can be bolted in or an optional cable kit can be bought for it. I have decided to go with a custom fit console safe instead so I don't need this one. $75 David

you need a safe. Not some cheesy $100 job either. Get one they can't wheel out on a 2 wheel dolly.

I keep my firearm on me at all times at home, unless I'm asleep, then it's within 18" of my right hand at all times.

In a safe bolted to the floor. You can try but it ain't going anywhere.

I've got two of the mini vaults in different sectors, one main safe, several cameras, and multiple 100lb dogs guarding the perimeter.

I'm afraid that I may be in need of professional help at this point.

Also, someone buy that mini safe. Bolt that thing down and it's going to deter the average piece of shit thief...

My main safe is a big ass eleectronic key code browning ( I think it's called an inifinity) thats bolted down to the floor and to the wall. The other one is just a cheap little stack on that I keep my .22's and shotguns in.

Drive around to a bunch of different sports authorites and oshmans and what not. I did it for a couple days and it really paid off. I ended up getting about a thousand bucks off of my browning. Most of those stores no longer stock higher end safes anymore because no one buys them there, so if you find one, it's almost always a steal. Cabelas safes aren't bad either and they also won't empty your wallet.

Big heavy safe. Small gunvault for my carry weapon. I have secret vaults in the walls and floor every 10ft. I sleep with a shotgun in the bed next to me and a pistol in each hand. I might even have a grenade strapped to my big toe.

I hope you don't ever get an itch on that big toe and accidentally pull the pin while you're still half asleep.

i was thinking about starting a thread like this a few days ago too, weird.

i keep my glock 17 with a 33 round magazine(31 w/2round extender) about 2 feet from my head while i sleep. that will have to do until i get my sig p220 or a tactical shotgun, the shotgun i have now is almost 5ft long...not the best for in-home defense. lol

I've got the GunVault Multi Deluxe sitting on my night stand. It holds both my Glock 27 and my Kimber Custom Classic II along with extra mags and a Surefire flashlight.

I'd like to pick up one of these as well to have my AR-15 and Winchester Defender 1300 handy.

It's called a Rifle Locker. Not as secure (and not as thick and heavy and fireproof) as a real gun safe but it's a hell of a lot more accessible than one. Like I said, I'd want one for the bedroom where I can easily access it but still have it secure from kids, etc. $550, link below.

Lowes online has a great deal on a heavy rifle safe with hidden floor panels, holes for floor anchors, fire restistant and separate internal keyed bin with lots of shelf space. Around $300 and well built. Saw them at the Lowes in Plano on 75 and spring creek... Best deal for the price and features I have found anywhere including bass pro and academy.

I've got one of these:

http://www.heritagesafe.com/tradition.html

In the 72" tall x 40" wide x 28" deep model...

It is 1,125 lbs empty, and I have about 12 long guns, 4 pistols, and about 12-15k rounds of ammo in it.

I'm guessing it weighs close to 1,500 lbs.

If anyone can pick that sumbitch up and walk off with it, they are free to have it. It took 3 of us (all over 220 lbs) to get that MF'er in the front door, and it was empty...

I keep mine in a safe, there is no need risking having some asshole break in and take them. My dad got me a Cannon 22 gun(i think) safe for x-mas. I dont recall the model or what it weighs but it's freakin heavy and it was a pain to get in the house.

This was a pic right after I got it and now the damn thing is almost full

What kind of shotgun? I picked up a 18.5" barrel for HD for my Mossberg 500 that came with a 28" barrel. Might be an option instead of buyin a whole new one.
