I think you have to be "traveling". There seems to be room for interpretation as to what the definition is, but I think it's multi-county (as in more than 1).

"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

the search feature owns all of you dumbasses....

Castle doctrine has NOTHING to do with being able to carry a gun in your car... Search properly or get the fuck out.

Don't you have some research to do on why your modular motor can't hang with pushrod Corvettes and such?

while it might not have anything to do with "protecting your castle" the new laws about keeping firearms in the car was passed during the same session so it is very easy to see how someone could describe it to include both.

There was really no change about carrying while "traveling" except that a section or two was moved around to make the intentions of the law more cut-and-dry.
Quote:
46.02. UNLAWFUL CARRYING WEAPONS. (a) A person
commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or
recklessly carries on or about his or her person a handgun, illegal
knife, or club if the person is not:
(1) on the person's own premises or premises under the
person's control; or
(2) inside of or directly en route to a motor vehicle
that is owned by the person or under the person's control.
(a-1) A person commits an offense if the person
intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries on or about his or
her person a handgun in a motor vehicle that is owned by the person
or under the person's control at any time in which:
(1) the handgun is in plain view; or
(2) the person is:
(A) engaged in criminal activity, other than a
Class C misdemeanor that is a violation of a law or ordinance
regulating traffic;
(B) prohibited by law from possessing a firearm;
or
(C) a member of a criminal street gang, as
defined by Section 71.01.

yah this has already been gone over.
yes , it is more cut and dry now the interpretation of traveling is actually fucking clear now.

Yet (ill repeat for those too lazy to search) , there are DA's in many countys actively arresting and prosecuting those who attempt to carry under this law.
So just cause you want to carry the heat and have interpretted the law correctly, does not mean some asshole judge and DA won't throw you in jail.

Leave it up to lawmakers to fix it, then the enforcers to go ahead and interpret it however the fuck they want.
I say throw those motherfuckers in jail if we have to! They should read up on what their job is all about. The incompetence of the police, judges and prosecuters is hard to believe.
I hope they suffer the greatest by acting outside the law themselves now, and are charged with unlawful detention , or unlawful prosecution, and they serve time for it.

The people have spoken , they need to get over it .

It was clear before, but it was listed in the section with many exceptions to unlawful carrying of a weapon; now it's listed in the same section as unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Nothing... if they never find the body...

If i lived in one of those states and i killed some guy threatening my family, well the world just might never know what happened to old whats his name. I mean if he is doing that illegally, how many people know where he went?
