You steal them!

Or, you fill out the appropriate paperwork, pay a small fee, and pass a background check.

Sig

Sig makes the Mosquito a 22 with a threaded barrel too ... I have the Walther and it is nice to shoot with the can - but the Sig feels a little better IMHO.

I got the Sig with threaded barrel from Bachmans on Harry Hines (but at a gun show) for $309 - not much more than the P22.

They're perfectly legal.

Just have to fill out a Tax form (Form 4), get a Sheriff, Judge, Chief of Police, DA, etc to sign the form attach a passport photo mail in with fingerprint cards and a $200 check. Wait 45-60 day and it's yours. Or you can buy them through a trust or personal corporation.

Same goes for machine guns, destructive devices, etc

This supressor model runs for $350, pretty much one of the top of the line model/manufacturers to choose from.

if they are so legal and common, which i didnt know about , it would be safe to assume you can get them easy on the black market too right??

Beats me, Ive never been to the black market.

But like everything in the world, there are ways to obtain whatever you want without going through the proper channels.

Sure, but if you get caught, are you willing to risk the 10years/$10k fine?

I've got a close friend with a Ruger Mark VII with a full suppressor. It is about as loud as an office stapler. If you hold the bolt closed and don't let it cycle when you fire it is barely audible.

Of course you could always fire CB22s through an unsupressed gun and it is no louder than a pellet gun.

I actually prefer them hunting. It's a matter of time before OSHA standards start mandating the use of those, or hearing protection, and how can you listen for game with earmuffs on?

EDIT: Freakin' SWEET pistol, David.

Really? I'll stop. I only started because I heard most European hunting regs mandate them, or hearing protection. My buddy down here has some silenced stuff, and I tried it out, and it was awesome. All I shot was squirrels and rabbits, does that count?

Give me a dollar.

Any AAC dealer can get them for you.

The Prodigy is a .22lr only designated can. AAC offers a 7.62SD (quick disconnect) or a Cyclone which is the same as a 7.62SD but thread on. Their 240SD and SCAR-H SD are full auto rated quck disconnect cans.

If its a game animal with a "Season" Its illegal to use a silencer with them. You have to check the Texas Parks and Wildlife Book for what is considered a game animal. In some cases, TP&W will consider hogs a game animal in certain counties. Rabbits/Squirrels can be considered a game animal in certain counties.

Nussance animals are generally legal to hunt with a silencer.

I consider the law silly, but TP&W is probably using this law to stop illegal hunting.

To bad it is only a .22. Well i guess it is cheap ammo and just for fun anyway. But instead of paying 300 bucks, if you dont have that kind of money and you have a little bit of knowhow you can build your own suppressor that is just as good as the overpriced store bought ones. And as long as the ATF knows it (like the other guy said) it is completely legal.

Dude, it's awesome that it's only a .22 - cheap ammo, no recoil, and almost no sound; all you hear is the little bullet whizzing through the air at 1,500 fps or something.

I'll continue to buy the overpriced store bought ones. Lifetime warranty and far superior to anything I could design to work this well.

Besides, .22 cans arent the only ones Im waiting on. But are the only ones that give you that hollywood quietness.
