I cant say one way or the other about a Rossi, but whats wrong with a wheelgun?

wheel guns are great for just keeping in the car/truck... I'd like to get a little one to put in the wife's bedside. they're so simple,a nd you know they're going to fire! and if they don't, you just pull the trigger again!

I dont have anything against wheel guns, I would just rather have a semi-auto thats all. I guess If you already have many, than by all means get a wheel gun, but get the 6".

one of my friends has a rossi .357 revolver... looks nice. he has a matching .22 revolver. anyway, he bought it used and it broke within 10 shots. i dont know how good rossi really is, but that put a bad taste in my mouth.

ha. Why would you rather have a semi-automatic than a revolver?

What exactly broke?

If you like it, go for it, Paul. .357 Magnum is fun and plenty powerful, and a 4" barrel seems to balance and handle nicely on a smaller/medium-framed revolver; I haven't got any experience with a 6" barrel, but if it feels good, go for it.

I work at Academy and we have had several people call/come in after getting one because it broke or a piece fell off or the cylinder fell out etc. I just smile and say sorry you signed the no return policy when you bought it contact Rossi for warranty work. Needless to say I wouldn't get one.

I owned a stainless .357 Rossi that was stolen by the movers when I transferred here almost 7 years ago. It was a 4" ported barrel, and it was a great gun. It never misfired, jammed, etc. I kept it loaded with 3 rat shot and 3 jackets in the nightstand on my wife's side of the bed. I felt safer when I was out of town knowing that was the weapon she had for defense since she's not a gun person. The wheel gun is perfect for that -- point and shoot. If nothing happens, pull the trigger again. Some people will tell you they're junk, but my experience was good. Good luck.

If you want a .357M wheelgun, pick up a used S&W. You will never regret it. Rossi's are iffy on quality. Some good some not so good. Colt, then Taurus would be my next choice. For $300-$400 should pick up a decent S&W.

If you can find a Dan Wesson, they're good guns, too, and built like tanks.

Any hookups?

ELVIS, not much experience personally with revolvers but the only one I have (actually I bought it for my dad) is a little snubbie 2" ported barrel .38 Special Taurus with the bobbed hammer has been great. Doesn't get shot much but I've heard nothing but great things about it while I was researching the purchase. Casper also had a Raging Bull in .454 Cassul (sp?) that was pretty damn nice. I wouldn't hesitate recommending a Taurus to anyone.

a buddy of mine had a .357 Rossi that he bought at Academy. Same shit. It broke pretty soon after the purchase. He sent it in to be repaired free of charge. As soon as he got it back, he sold it. Not a good buy IMO.

I've got 4 wheel guns, and love each one of them. I would highly reccommend a used police .357 S&W from www.cdnninvestments.com

I just picked up a used Ruger GP100 in .357 Magnum. Just can't go without having a revolver around, ya know.

As far as the Rossi goes, just for a little more coin you can get a Taurus. I used to have a Rossi lever action, possibly the worst rifle I've ever owned. Just my .02 cents.
