Glock .40 for Welder?

I need to find the guy that swapped me a welding unit for my Glock .40 (model 22) last year. The gun was stolen from you and recovered by Arlington PD. I'd like to make sure it gets back to you. Otherwise, it's all mine again.

PM me. You drive a green 70-73 Chevelle big block and work on a ton of wave runners...live south of Arlington & Fort Worth...

Alright people, pay attention:

It's interesting that Arlington PD gave it to you.

anytime a stolen gun is found and wasnt used in a crime they return it to the registered owner. or at least i was told that when part of my gun collection got stolen about 8 years ago they said if they ever show up at a pawn shop ect ect they will call me and will be returned......prob would never happen but makes you feel a little better

I wonder if there's a way to get some of my guns "papered". Mainly the ones I bought from a private party seller.

Sure is. Just go through a FFL. Unfortunately, I need to as well with about 1/2 of mine.

Hmmm.... Just go to an FFL with the gun? Can they write it up even if there was no real sale going on? Part of me doesn't want all these guns listed in my name but considering what brought up this thread part of me does.

I'm not really sure on the process in this case. I know that you can pay a small fee to an FFL if both parties want to do a face to face there, though.

IMO, I wouldn't necessarily go through the trouble if it's just something that you'll be getting rid of anytime soon. If you keep your face to face transactions on paper (I like to make a bill of sale that includes both partys' IDs photocopied, signatures, serial numbers, etc. If you do get it stolen, report it and you'll have that to show proof of ownership. Sounds like this wasn't done this way.

I'll just take a bunch of pics of my "undocumented" guns showing the serial number.

How do you know it was stolen from him? He could have sold it to someone else, and that person sold it to someone else........

Hi Wayne, I really don't care about who owns or sold it, I just want to see if I can connect the guy to his gun.

On other issues, are you the guy I sold a C4 tranny to down in Burleson a while back? You had a whole lot of know-how with classic Mustang's & Falcons and brake conversions...

That's John, and that's who I was thinking.

I was thinking he changed his name to 71ChevelleJohn... but now that I think about it, he has a 70.

Chev-Hell is my new guess.

That's Him

I got a PM to him. Thanks fellows.

The Arlington PD wants to know who is supposed to actually own the thing. I hope that they are going to just return it to it rightful owner :-) If I don't hear from ole` John, that owner is me.

It may never have been reported, it's possible that someone just found it. I know that's highly unlikely but it's a possibility.

How the Walther working out for you?

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land." Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said,"Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promised Land." Now Obama has stolen your shovel..., taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

Good question :-)

I am betting he sold it to someone and they went off to shoot the mailman...
Somehow that doesn't make me feel any better :-(

I thought you were moving to Montana or some such place. Since you're aparently not, when I get ready to do this next 65 front end brake conversion, can I PM you and drain your brain of usefull knowledge?

I had to just go with 11" all the way around this time...stops well but not like I want.

It was colorado and my plans have changed. Want to buy a ranch in Colorado with Falcons grazing on it? I will be moving my babies back to Texas. Let me know when you do you swap and I will help out.

If you take pics of your guns to prove ownership, print them out and mail them to yourself, then stash them in a safe deposit box/fire safe.

Give me a dollar.
