A while back someone posted up a sweet Marlin 1895GS and scope combo

I have searched and cant find out whose it was. It was an awesome looking rifle and scope combo. So I am thinking about picking up something similar. What can you tell me about it and how you like it.

TIA
Justin

Not sure if it's the one you're thinking of, but I have put a pic of mine on here before:

I love everything about it*. It's fun, it's a good size to carry around (if you're not just a range shooter), isn't overly heavy (7 lbs), with a Pachmary Decelerator pad it is not too punishing, and, well... everyone loves a big bore lever action

*except the cost of shooting. Tony, wanna cook me up some handloads?!

I got them together about two years ago from a shop up in the NE. Found it on GunBroker.

It's a Simmons 3-9x40 scope on a Leupold mount.

Just up and right of the crosshair you will see a wood stand. There was a gong hanging there at ~200 yds. The scope was not at 9x for that shot though.

Damn that is nice. Love the rail on the top. What caliber is it in? Allan, more info please.

Eventually I wouldn't mind adding a lever gun to my collection, preferably something in .38/.357 to keep it consistent with what I already have ammo for. Be a nice "plinker".

Evil One...I think it is just another variant of the Marlin Lever Action in the first pic. They have a couple different models.

It could be this one which is a 45-70:

But I will let Allan give more info cause I dont know for sure.

I want to say it was done by Wild West Guns. Pretty sure it is 45-70.
