Any advise on new gun choice

I'm looking for a new handgun and so far i have been looking at these 3

Glock 23
the XD .40
Smith and Wesson M&P .40

My top choice as of now is the Glock. The best price i have found it is 505 with night sights, but i plan on going to the gun show this weekend to see if there are any better deals.

Any opinions will be appreciated, this is my first handgun. I plan on having my CHL by the end of the month.

go to the gun store or show and handle all 3 and see which one fits you the best, the xd is my choice, then the smith. i'd would take a hk usp 40 over all of them though.

Go to a gun range and rent all three. Shoot all three then decide.

I've held all 3 and like the glock the best, haven't Held and HK yet. I'll have to give that a try.

Just holding it is not quite like shooting it.

Shooting all three would be your best bet, otherwise I would go with the Glock. Also, in my opinion night sights are overrated. They are nice to have, but far from necessary. After the first shot you will not be able to see anything anyway.

Love my Glock 27! Should have gone to Sportsman's Warehouse closing sale for at least 10% of on pistols. Looked like all the Glocks are gone today but there are still quite a few other brands left.

All good.

I suggest going to a indoor range and test them.

dfwgun.com is on Mockingbird. I have shot a handful of theirs. Not the cheapest pst time, but better than buying a gun you don't like.

some people are like slinkies; they're completely useless, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Have you shot a low light IDPA match?

My Glock 23 is the best gun I ever had. See if you can fire one somewhere so you can decide. Glock=very few moving parts, easy to clean, durable as hell, lightweight. 86 the night sights. If you have time to use them, it's murder not self defense.
