Where do you buy bulk ammo?

Do you guys buy locally at gun shows or places like Cheaper than Dirt or do you buy online. Where do you find the best deals? Do you think buying online in bulk and paying for shipping, etc is cheaper than buying local?

Just trying to get an idea where to stop shopping around at. Gun Shows would probably be out of the question as I rarely get out to any but I would be curious what ammo is going for there.

We usually buy all our stuff at gun shows. If we need a lot we go online.

What caliber, and how much are you looking to buy?
Bulk ends up being cheaper, if you have the money to front.(Or if a couple of buddies go in on it with you)
Check out aimsurplus.com and ammoman.com for online sources
Locally id try military gun supply in ft worth, or cheaper than dirt...

sportsmansguide.com is a good one also.

I have a club account, so I can get the club prices, and they also send out a bunch of coupons for $10 off orders over $50...

I sign up for all the "sports warehouse" coupons I can get my hands on. I found a box of 500 rounds of .45 a few months back for pretty cheap, then had a $25 coupon which made it even a better deal!

Stuff at the Gun Shows never really seems to be any better priced than local shops and then add the $7 to get in....

Looking for sponsorships for 2010 on the car above... PM for details and schedule.

I'm a mod motor GOD! LOL!

I always check cheaper than dirt, or sportsmans.. Gun show ammo is REALLY FREAKING EXPENSIVE, when you add the 7 dollars to get in to get the ammo. Hell even Cabella's is cheaper than a lot of gun show prices if you go out and buy in bulk. (Especially if you wait until they send you the coupons in the mail.). Give one example at cabella's. I bought 500 rounds of 7.62 x 39 for 59 dollars after using a coupon of thiers about a year ago.

Sportsmans warehouse had wolf ammo (7.62 x 39) for $1.54 about 8 months ago (hollow points), so I ended up buying 100 boxes off it.

Cheaper than Dirt had Silver Bear .308 on sale about a year ago for 4.97 a box. I bought many boxes of it.

Sorry for not having responded to this sooner.

What I'm looking at doing is building up a supply of .223, .40 S&W, .45ACP, and to a lesser degree some 12 Gauge, .38 Special, and .22 LR.

What's a good way to store bulk ammo that would be moisture resistant? My basement would be the only place I can really store my ammo without it being readily accessible when I have my niece and nephews over. The problem I have with that is humidity or how damp it can get down there sometimes. I've got some surface rust on my Winchester 1300 Defender, a .410 shotgun, and my dad's .30 Cal M1 Carbine that are not in sealable storage cases (reason I bought the gun/rifle sacks in another post).

What are some good local sources to buy bulk ammo besides gun shows? I've seen prices for Cheaper Than Dirt and Cabellas but do those prices translate to the store front or do they have different (higher) prices?

Cheapest .45 and 40 i've found is at Wal-Mart 9.xx for 45 and 7.xx for 40 Blazer Brass. I dont know if all Wal-Marts have that price, but the one on Great Southwest Parkway and I20 does.

Southwest Ammunition on the square in old downtown Mesquite. 2 minutes east of IH635 (Scyene/Military Exit). 972-285-3644. 10-6 W-F. 10-3 Saturday. The shop is owned by the Rucker family of Rucker Bullet components. They manufacture much of the cast lead bullets they stock and they carry Berger, Hornady, Sierra, Some Montana Gold, Sometimes Berry or equivalent. Its a more complete line for handgun and rifle reloader, at a lower price point than B&S Guns, Garland Public Range or Bullet Trap in Plano. Heavier on components than presses but they are an RCBS dealer.

Mr Rucker passed away within the last two weeks so you should call to see if Mrs Rucker and their son are back on a regular duty schedule . They are (or were) FFL's and carry a small stock of firearms.

quote from another site.

They bulk ammo reloads available. I think they make onsite. Got some .380ACP 100 rounds like 20$.

It's pretty dry up here in DFW compared to Houston.

Just store in cool, dry area that is safe.

Preparing for civil war?

Anybody know where you can buy the most ultra-dangerous, uber-lethal poison toxic lead bullets?
