Magpul PMAG

Anybody know where to walk in and buy MagpuL Ar-15 mags and followers in Fort Worth (or the DFW area)? Anybody use these in their AR's?

CTD does not list them online but I need to pick up some ammo so I'll check out the showroom.

Good to know that the mags run well, considering the price.

I have one for my DPMS works great, really it does. I have a colt mag and a "gun show special" mag. this one is great. I was skeptical about it being plastic, but so far its great!

I saw a video on another website showing them comparing the Magpul to other brands and the clincher was when the ran over all (3 different brands?0 of them with a truck and the others failed but the Magpul was still all together.

Me and Honnuer05 actually put a couple of his magpul mags through some of those say tests. You'd be surprised at how much those will stand up to. We took pics and magpul actually sent him a new mag.

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land." Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said,"Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promised Land." Now Obama has stolen your shovel..., taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

Yes and I've actually testing this out. Actually put a mag right under my front tire and started turned the wheel left and right a bunch of times. Just scratched the casing a little bit but the mag functioned fine.

Well, anyone stupid enough to drive over their mags shouldn't be shooting a weapon anyway...seriously, what's the worst that can usually happen, drop one from waist level??? Don't need anything special for that?

very true

But the "cool factor" is there I suppose. And at least the pmags are competitively priced.

BTW, someone was asking what's so great about these mags and another thing I found out is that they have a see through window so you can visually do a round count. Not earth shattering but cool none the less.

I think the idea was more that in case that happens, like at an outdoor range or something, it's no big deal.

Give me a dollar.

Actually Magpul was the first to patent the "Magpul" device that slips onto the end of an AR mag so when you drop a mag it doesn't damage the magazine.

I was reading an article about the company in regards to the Masseda (sp?) rifle they are coming out with and it went into detail about the origins of the company. Pretty interesting reading.

I ordered some as well. AIM does offer the ones with the window (there are two different kinds) but they are $17.05 with penny shipping. After comparing these to my metal AR mags I don't think I would buy any other. They make a great addition to the strikeing ability for close quarters blows with the mag.

I bought a couple of C Products metal mags and a couple PMags for my AR...the metal mags will not drop free from my RRA lower, but the PMags will...

So at least for use in my RRA, the PMags have won the duty...I need to assemble my Stag lower and see what it will like...I may just stay with PMags in both to keep it simple.

Anyone know if Magpul makes PMags for calibers other than .223?

Just checking back on this thread. To answer your question, doesn't look like Magpul offers any mags for anything than .223.

Well I've got 3 so far. And 3 metal mags that came with my rifle. Doubt I'll be any more metal mags and just keep adding more P-Mags to the collection as money allows. Can't beat the price (or the shipping right now).
