First time ever to the Gun range or to shoot a gun....

And I pissed my Bro in law off!...LOL

Simply put I have always enjoyed target shooting of some kind...and I say some kind VERY loosely because as stated in the subject...this was my first time to shoot a real gun.

That being said...I couldn’t tell you how many hundreds of hours I spent as a child shooting BB's and Pellets at targets from near impossible distances.... I was always supposed to go hunting with my Dad in my younger years but things always came up....till later in life and it wasn't a big deal to me anymore.

Fast Forward to Bro in law got a new 270 for an upcoming deer hunt...He asked if I wanted to go to the range with him and help him sight in his rifle and I could also shoot the .45 pistol I had gotten from my dad in his passing.

My Bro squeezes off 16 rounds as we sight it in. Once we thought he got it sighted he spent a good 8 of those 16 rounds trying to get a bullseye from 100 yards. He says to himself...I think I'm chasing my want to shoot? I accepted.

I get set....steady my breathing....adjust myself again...concentrate on breathing and slowly squeeze the trigger...

Then the look of disbelief in my Bros' eyes... First time ever to shoot a real gun...from 100 yards....BULLSEYE!

Here is the target to prove it. The other 2 shots on it were his 2 attempts before me. I'm hooked now. Almost got a new rifle and Pistol on the way home.

Beginners don't flinch. It comes after shooting for a while.

Nonetheless, nice shot.

.270 is great deer caliber.
