CHL Arrived Today...

My CHL finally arrived in the mail today. I am now a certified card carrying member of a very great Lone Star club. I found it kind of funny that the absolute only thing in the envelope from the DPS was the actual CHL License, and that's all. No letter or rules or instuctions on when to use it, just the license itself. I am happy...

i took the class on October 20 (a saturday). I mailed off the packet on October 22 (a monday). It took 7 weeks and 2 days from the day that i mailed it off. Not too bad considering it takes 4 or 5 days for the mail to travel from here to Austin. The DPS will send you a letter letting you know that they received your packet and will give you a PIN to access your application status on the Texas website

www.texasonline.com

good luck on your CHL...

My wife has decided that she wants to get hers and so do several other Bullitt owners. I think that we have about 5 that are going to take the class together sometime in January. I already have mine, but I'll still probably go so the wife isn't freaked out.

I need to take mine, it would be cool to go with some other mustang people. Do you know if there are any openings left in that class?

It's a different feeling, knowing that you can legally carry a gun. It's also a ton of responsibilty that is always on my mind.

We haven't yet booked the class, but I'm sure that there will be openings. I need to call the guy and talk about a date. If there are enough of us he may do a private class. We will probably do it a Saturday morning.
