Nice gat. I'm not a real big fan of .357 Sig. I might have to eventually try one out, though, if I want to keep dogging it.

Good thing about .357 sig is you can just swap in a .40 cal barrel and it shoots just the same.

Very cool. I have the same weapon in a 9mm, and love it...carry it every day!

I just feel a little more secure about an accidental discharge. I have a Glock model 22, and it's fine, too. If there's ever a struggle over a weapon, I'd like the grip safety. Hell, I carried a .45 a long time, "cocked and locked", but got a little leery about it.

I've had a couple Glocks and never been scared of an AD... hell, I want as few safeties as possible... I want something that's going to fire when I want it to, under whatever conditions

Oh, it'll fire when I want it to, and it'll be my hand that does it.

Because an xd is equal in quality and has the grip safety.

Add another person to your list of people who like the grip safety.

Me.

They function flawlessly BTW.

Glocks are so prone to accidental discharges that Blackhawk has been forced to recall their SERPA and Sportster holsters due to accidental discharge when placing Glock 20 into the holster.

Also... very nice gun red04gt!! That caliber will make sure the bad guys are stopped immediately.

I carry a Glock 29 and have carried a Glock 22 with a cheap Uncle Mike's Inside the Pants holster and haven't had any problems, let alone an accidental discharge (nor have I had an accidental discharge with any of my 3 Glocks). I don't see how you could, either, with the right holster.

I'll see if I can drum up statistics for accidental discharges with the police from when they switched from revolvers to Glocks.

There's no such thing as accidental discharge. They're all negligent.

Unintentional discharge is a better description.

May I ask why? It's a passive safety device. You don't even do anything special to disengage it.

But it disappears into the grip when you wrap your hand around it.

I don't need to squeeze it. It's nothing like the old "Gold Cup" I used to carry. If your hand is in the firing position, it's released.

I liked the idea of the grip safety, but I didn't like how the XD9 felt in my hand. I don't know if the higher caliber XD's are that much different.....
