I think for the same price you could buy a remington 700p. If you want something semi auto then build a long barrel AR15.

Never could get into the AK sniper thing.

I'd buy the Romanian version over the Russian Dragunov. They shoot 7.62x54R instead of 7.62x39.

Give me a dollar.

I looked into the Remingtons but stock, no scope, with a fluted bull barrel starts at $800 and as far as a long barrel AR15 there is no reason to get it in .223 so in order to get it in .308 your looking at starting at $1000 and for a moded one your looking at $1500. I don't know maybe I'll save and spend the extra cash. Has anyone shot one?

A real dragunov will run you about around a grand

unless you buy a bootleg reproduction, even then they are 700-800

agreed, an AK variant is for killing lots of people at close/semi-close range, not for sniping

Romak III or PSL

Ok first off a real Dragunov or NDM-86 is about 3,000 dollars and is an excellent rifle with a great reputation. A lot of people get confused when buying these rifles because they think there getting an excellent Sniper rifle for 750.00 bucks. The pic of the rifle you have posted is of a Romak III or PSL it is setup on an AK style receiver with a long stock and barrel. Now another thing to be aware of is that I have never seen a Romak or PSL with a chromed line barrel so you need to be careful when you buy it. Also a real Dragunov is set up on an entirely different receiver and it is not like an AK by all means. If you try to buy real Dragunov Mags they will not fit your Romak or PSL and it goes Visa Versa. The great thing abount Romaks are they are fairly accurate out to 800m. You can buy as an upgrade a PSOP 8x scope as opposed to the 4x PSOP for around 100 bucks when you buy the rifle. And the two best things about this rifle is it looks really cool and you can buy Russian Tin can ammo 440rds of 7.62x54r for 70 bucks. You cant shoot 308 for that cheap.

Your welcome if you have any questions let me know. I would buy it they are a hard hitting rifle and are the Sniper rifle choice for many countries. IMO it is a great bang for the buck.If a ban goes into effect next year the price will double or triple on it.

Do yourself a favor, DON'T buy a century dragunov. Their Wasr-10's are ok but there really just hit and miss. I guess I lucked out and got a good one. Ive seen some that were you look at em and are like WTF!? So I'd assume their other products are the same.

If your willing to spend $800 save some more and get a DPMS LR .308

'97 Cobra, 4R70W by Mike's trick shift, ect, ect.
'90 GT 5 speed, 5 lug swap, stock weekend cruiser for now.

Ive never had a problem with century. Its like anything else when your importing more guns than everyone else theres going to be some bad ones. I have nothing but good things to say about century.

308 is to expensive 18 bucks for 20rds?

7.62x54r is cheap 20 bucks for 100rds

True, I've had no trouble out of my wasr. All I'm saying is you can end up getting straight up junk from them. There's no way Id spend that much with them. Besides their stuff isn't true "dragunovs" anyways neither is their RPD's.

real?

Your not getting anything real unless your breaking out some serious cash. For real stuff it has to be made in 1986 or older. All imported firearms that are brought in after 1986 have to meet federal firearms regulations and have to make them 922r compliant so there goes your real stuff out the door.

Nix the RPD I meant RPK I dont even think century carries RPD's.
I guess it all depends on what your definition of "real" is though. What I was trying to get at on the RPK's is almost all of century's that you see look like a wasr-10 with a diffrent stock and a longer barrel. And that barrel isn't the heavy duty one that typically comes with an RPK. You can find semi auto RPK's with good parts for around 1k, no need to dip into class III territory for "real" stuff. Unless of course that's what you happen to be looking for.

My buddy has a Romak 3 that I've shot several times. It's a great gun and awesome bang for the buck! The range we shoot at only goes out to 300m, but at that range, it's laughably easy to put the whole mag into an 18" gong very quickly! It's $700ish with optics for a semi-auto 7.62x54r (ballistically similar to a 30-06) it's hard to argue against it! The gas system softens it up just enough that it's a lot more pleasant to shoot than a Mosin Nagant. (same caliber) Keep in mind that they are very large!

For the same money though, you could have a real solid Garand.
