Went test shooting tonight....

Well, since I am going to finally go get the CHL, I went shopping for a smaller pistol that would be easier to conceal. I looked over a bunch at the Big Town gun show a few weeks ago and decided to go shoot a Taurus PT 145. Well, I am ordinarily a damn fine shot but I couldn't hit shit with this thing. I finally figured out to aim about 6" up and to the left at 15 yards and was finally able to get it on the page. I handed back the counter guy and said don't put it back in the counter but throw it in the trash.

He recomended the Bersa, Thunder 45 and I shot VERY well with it. 3" group at 15 yards with the first mag. Shot well but just didn't like the feel of it. For those interested, Bullet Trap is selling the right now for $339 on sale.

Still looking for a carry weapon and I had my eye on a Sig 220 compact, two tone stainless over black. It was a sig red box refurb but was marked down from $639 to $549. Looked it over pretty good and probably had only been fired 2 or 3 times. Was SOOOOOO tempting but at that price range, I am going to have to wait a while. Looking for something sub $350 so it's time to start shopping used.

Guess I will be packing this little CZ P75 until I find something smaller.....after I get the license!

Glock 29 is a 10mm, not .45 ACP (although same frame). The compact/subcompact Glock .45 is the Glock 30.

If you buy the ammo I'd let you try out my Glock 27 along with assorted carry holsters to see what you think. I think it's the perfect balance of power (.40 S&W) in a compact package.

I'll be looking to pick up a KelTec PF9 sometime soon for ultra light compact (I like the fact that I can slip it into a pocket) but it's only available in 9mm and I have no problems concealing the 27 while wearing jeans so it'll still be my choice.

As a member at Bullettrap, I can test fire guns for $5 if buy the ammo so not really a big deal. Thanks for the offer though.

the funny thing is, I am liking the idea of buying the ammo and just going up there and spending $5 to use the gun mostly because I don't have buy it and I don't have to CLEAN it!!!

Cleaning guns is easy. Hose them with brake cleaner and oil where necessary.

When you go back to the Bullet Trap, ask for Dave Hammers. Tell him Moby Dick sent ya. If its soon, tell him I want my Amsterdam hat back too

personally, I carry a S&W MP40c for my carry weapon. Its small, compact, 10rnds of .40, and can be concealed anywhere.....almost
