Well, I was gonna buy a new deer rifle, but...

I saw something I absolutely DO NOT need in my local gun shop, and when I get my bonus in 2 weeks, I think I'll go pick it up. It was a Sako rifle in .338 Win Mag very gently used for $600. I have almost no use for this rifle, but hey, I'll shoot it all the same. Anyone think I should pass?

Give me a dollar.

Wanna come down to Stephenville and shoot it? We have a cheapo 100yd range, and a high dollar 1000yd range, but you have to qualify for 300+ yds. I can't freaking wait!

Sounds like fun. I've shot a shit-ton of shotguns, my fair share of handguns, but only a few .22 LR rifles.

Tell me more..... I can only shoot out to 300 yards, and do they have round restrictions? I have been discriminated against at some ranges, they get upset when I pull the Barrett out.
But I really want to pull out my old 1000 yard gun and shoot it, It has been mothballed since 1990
Do you have a need for the .338? My older brother has shot deer with his and they usually die a quick death, but I give him shit because my daughters use .223 and .243 to drop them just as quick. The ammo costs a nut, and reloading is outrageous because of the amount of powder you use. I don't think you get 100 rounds out of a pound of powder....

I doubt they have sound restrictions, they're in the middle of nowhere. The guy that owns it is ex-SAS. By the way, the monthly qualifying for 1000yds is the 11th. Red, if I put a McMillan stock, Harris bipod and a tactical scope on it, would it make you a little happier?

Give me a dollar.

Aren't Sako rifles on the expensive side? $600 ain't alot for a badass rife. As far as the caliber goes, hell why not, get it just so you say you got it. But then again the ammo costs quite a bit, so shooting it would be not be a common activity

I'd buy it.

I have the exact rifle/caliber and it is very accurate. The recoil is more of a strong push instead of a sharp kick like a 300 mag. I have quite a few rifles and accuracy on this one is only second to my 22-250 Price is very good....
