Anyone know any info on a Western Field model 149 20 ga?

Western Field model 149 20ga bolt action.
I was talking to a guy at work about shooting Sun @ Alpine. I told him I was planning on buying a 20ga to take out their and shoot. He said he an old 20ga and I could have it. So he just gave it to me free.Has some rust on it and the magazine is missing but hey, it's free. All Iv come up with is that its about 35 years old,was sole in the Sears catalog and even back then (like now)was just a cheap pos shotgun.Anyone know anything else about them. Or where I could find a magazine for it?

I would really try to see if Cheaper than Dirt can get a magazine. Other than that, you may need to just scout Ebay (if they still allow gun accessories... fuckers!) or gunbroker.com. Beyond that, Pidgeon Road down here will hot tank it and clean it up on the cheap. Get them to put a Pachmayr Decellerator pad on it for you. You shouldn't be out more than $80 all together. Talk to Allan, but watch out for his dad, Roger, he's a cranky ol' sumbitch! He doesn't want to hear anything that doesn't end in you giving him a dollar.

Give me a dollar.

That's the old Sears brand, there are a lot out there, if its been taken care of then it is fine, although I don't like bolt action shotguns.

So if it is a sears or western auto bolt gun it was probably made by Marlin.
Try looking for pics of Marlin goose gun.
Good luck on the mag.

Try Lee's Gun parts in Irving. (You can search the web for his shop). He has a TON of old parts for guns that are hard to get. I'm willing to bet that he can get you a magazine for that shotgun.
