RRA 6.8SPC...whatcha think?

I had a 700 LTR in 6.8SPC a while back but got rid of it for a .308 bolt gun. I really liked the cartridge and thought the AR platform was perfect. So I picked up this Rock River with a mid length gas system, Daniel Defense rail. I added the Magpul Miad grip and ACOG. I have not had a chance to shoot it yet, but it should be more than adequate accuracy wise.

damn nice rifle man

Currently I am in the process of building one, but I don't know whether to go 308 or stick with the 223. Will be using a 24 inch barrel and a scope for some 400 yard target shooting.

Not to mention the red tape. If it was easier to acquire one, then I would own one, but to me its not worth the time and money to make your gun quieter. I don't plan on hunting varmints in my backyard or going on a covert operation anytime soon.

DOHCTR, I had a DPMS LR308 that shot like a champ. Sub MOA out of the box. It was a 24" stainless. I know DPMS has a bad rep in some circles, but it ran flawlessly.

Good_Ole_REd, I would love a can for it. I think Surefire and Knights are making 6.8 specific cans or will be in the near future.

Cans are cheap fun NFA.

And it's only hard if you make it hard.

I think surefire has already released theres. Not 100% sure. A dealer had a 6.8 can at a MG/silencer shoot I went to, but it could have been a demo.

Cans definately increase the giggle factor.

I'm saving for a can, but I think I want one on a .308 bolt-action. I hunt with a guide out here, and I like being able to hear him when he whispers. Earplugs are the devil.

Give me a dollar.

My buddy just bought an AAC 7.62SD can. It's a pretty good can and made a .308 surprisingly quiet.

Just be aware it's illegal to hunt with a can here in Texas and numerous other states.
