I don't agree with it either. I do think they deserve to be where they are, but #1? Not hardly.

Got to meet the Razorbacks Friday night, was really hoping they would have jumped up instead of dropping a spot.

Beating Tech used to mean something. Since it's the first time in 10 years UT hasn't been ranked (an NCAA record), I can handle it.

Nice logic. Since Texas has the "biggest athletic program in the nation", they should never lose a game. I guess since Tech hardly even has an athletic program, every game they win is a blessing.

After that ugly showing, I'm suprised they didn't fall several spots.

I still cannot see how an undefeated Big 12 team and an undefeated SEC team do not jump Boise St. and TCU. Style points must have a lot to do with it because SOS doesn't.

When they were a decent program. A win in Lubbock was a big deal for ANY team. I thought you were a big fan of TT, or was it just when they were winning?

I like how LSU is finding ways to win. They are getting better every game. But they are going to have to run the table to get into the BCS championship. I wish they didn't have to play ULM, they need a stronger team on their schedule.

Serious question...why do the same few characters always turn threads in this forum to shit? What is going on in your life that causes you to be so negative and spiteful? Being an ass to everyone on an internet forum isnt gonna change your life circumstances...you have to get off the couch to do that.

Tech beating UT is always an upset because of the huge difference in talent level and size/prestige of the athletic program, which brings in that talent. It always has been, and it always will be. If you are happy with Mack Brown taking his top recruiting classes to 3 conference titles in 14 years, then by all means, enjoy.
So I guess we shouldn't have been happy with Darrell Royal, either? He had some off years, too.
I love the 'Horn's no matter who coaches them...always have. Look at what A&M did with R.C. Slocum. He has an off year or two, and the alum (and allthe other idiots down there) fire him. The winningest coach in A&M's history (and the SWC!) and they fired him. Guess what? They've sucked ever since, and will for a long time to come, by all indications. I'll stick with Mack for now, as every other school in the country would. His record speaks for itself.

When your school rules the Southwest in prestige, talent, money and facilities, and you can only win your conference 3 out of the last 14 years, you are severely underachieving. But...congrats on being ranked higher than Tech...maybe you can take credit for being ranked higher than Baylor and Iowa State while you are at it.
When did I ever say I was happy to be ranked higher than Tech? I think you misunderstood my post (shocking).

Your point that since Texas has the "biggest athletic program" they should win every game, is retarded. Money does not equal perfect seasons. But if that's what makes you feel better, than so be it. I know it sucks being a Tech fan every year, so I'm finally feeling your pain.

OU isn't to 1/2 yet, and "consistant nat'l champ hunt" is a stretch. No matter. I'd rather go 0-12 in burnt orange than ever root for the Sooners...To each his own.

The beauty of being a Tech fan isn't in the wins and losses, it is the wins against teams they shouldn't beat. So what if Tech loses to Iowa St. or Texas, it isn't like they were going to make a run at the national title....but to beat Texas or Nebraska and take them out of the hunt...that makes rooting for Tech worth it.

But...enjoy your underachieving Longhorns.

That is what they always have been and probably what they always will be, so when they lose, it is pretty much expected or anticipated against bigger programs. But...I guess you are just glad to be ranked above a school that is nothing more than a program that can only attract kids from West Texas and a blue chipper once a decade (see Crabtree and Hanspard). Congratulations on your high expectations for your team. hey, maybe they can put up a "2010" in their athletic offices with an asterisk indicating "we were ranked above Tech" this time instead of the feaux Bix 12 Champ asterisk.
I'm pretty happy...

That's what I mean. He puts this board through the same shit every year, so I'm used to it. The hatred he's spewed here the last couple of years won't ever be forgotten by some of us. There are really no bounds to what he'll say. Just wind him up, and watch him go. It all comes back. We reap what we sow...

I didn't know things were this bad for Tech fans. Your season hopes are pinned on MAYBE upsetting a they shouldn't beat? Holy shit. How is the suicide rate not off the charts in Lubbock?
