NFL week 5 predictions (Week 4 recap)

(2-2-0) Jacksonville Jaguars @ (0-4-0) Buffalo Bills
-Buffalo just can't keep up with any team right now let alone Jacksonville

(2-2-0) Denver Broncos @ (3-1-0) Baltimore Ravens
-I'm going to go ahead and go with Denver. I don't think Baltimore's defense can stop them. Plus Moreno should be back.

(3-0-0) Kansas City Chiefs @ (2-2-0) Indianapolis Colts
-The Chiefs are for real this year but Manning has always been for real plus they are playing at home.... Might be a different story in Kansas.

(3-1-0) Green Bay Packers @ (2-2-0) Washington Redskins
-One of the best games of the week, IMO. Really a toss up here..... I'm going with the Packers. Redskins will have no answer for Rodgers.

(2-2-0) St. Louis Rams @ (0-4-0) Detroit Lions
-Detroit finally gets a win and it's not going to be decided on the last play either.

(3-1-0) Chicago Bears @ (0-4-0) Carolina Panthers
-Julius Peppers has the game of his life in the return back to Carolina.

(2-1-0) Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ (2-2-0) Cincinnati Bengals
-Tampa just came off of a BYE week so I think they will come out firing on all cylinders this week.

(3-1-0) Atlanta Falcons @ (1-3-0) Cleveland Browns
-Atlanta is looking great right now..... Who am I kidding.

(2-2-0) New York Giants @ (3-1-0) Houston Texans
-After Sunday nights performance against the Bears I don't know how anyone could go with the Giants.

(3-1-0) New Orleans Saints @ (2-2-0) Arizona Cardinals
-Might not be quite the rematch as last year in the playoffs but Saints should keep on rolling here folks.

(2-2-0) Tennessee Titans @ (1-2-0) Dallas Cowboys
-Scratch that.... Dallas should win this home game.

(2-2-0) San Diego Chargers @ (1-3-0) Oakland Raiders
-Although rivalry games are usually decided within the final minutes I think this should be a blow out.

(2-2-0) Philadelphia Eagles @ (0-4-0) San Francisco 49ers
-Siding with 49ers simply because of injuries on the Eagles.

(1-2-0) Minnesota Vikings @ (3-1-0) New York Jets
-Coming off of a BYE week so I'd say they should be ready for the Jets. Darrel Revis just can't keep away from Randy Moss

BYE Week
(2-1-0) Miami Dolphins
(2-1-0) New England Patriots
(3-1-0) Pittsburgh Steelers
(2-2-0) Seattle Seahawks

Who would have thought by week 5 this season the only unbeaten team in the NFL would be the Kansas City Chiefs? Lol!

So we have 4 teams all winless at the moment...... Who do you think will get a win first? Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers & San Francisco 49ers.

What teams do you think are being overlooked and would be considered a contender for the playoffs already?

I'd have to say the best teams currently at the moment in no particular order would be Ravens, Steelers, Saints, Falcons & Houston. In my own opinion of course.

I don't see how Detroit is still winless. Those guys have been playing hard every week. Refs fucked them flat out, they should have beat Chicago. If I was Lovie Smith, I still wouldn't be done screaming and yelling at Goodell and crew 3 weeks later. All games have been decided by 5 points or less, they were at no point 'out' of any of those games, etc.

I don't think there is a team out there that stands out. Aints look like shit, and I would have laughed my fucking ass off had they lost to the Panthers. IDAJeff never would have heard the end of that one. Steelers have looked good, up until yesterday.

Dallas didn't embarass them, they just executed a great game plan and minimized mistakes. That's all you have to do to win games. JG (for once) took the Houston weakness (secondary) and exposed it, that's all. You can't argue Houston's stats. And you can't say they are playing cream puffs, either. I told you last year I thought Houston would win that division, and didn't happen, but it's a VERY real possibility this year. Houston is good. You simply can't argue that. They have the best receiver in the NFL, hands down. They have what I consider a top 5 TE, though he has done nothing this year due to a preseason injury. The other two receivers are no slouches (Walter and Jones), and the top running back in the NFL. Looking at that team, what they have done, and the way they have played, saying they suck is ignorant.

Um Manning tore it up against Houston. He exposed their weakness also. But Houston made the colts D their bitch. I think Houston is a good team but not one of the top teams. That is all I'm saying.

I don't understand why Detroit is winless as well..... They have improved incredibly over the past two seasons. They just seem to keep getting the short end of the stick.

I sure did go with a whole bunch of the away teams I just noticed... Lol. I'm undecided on who I'm going for on the Eagles vs 49ers. Just depends on the injury report later this week.

Its the Bills, we expect them to lose.
(2-2-0) Denver Broncos @ (3-1-0) Baltimore Ravens
Denver dosent have an answer the the Ravens WR's.
(3-0-0) Kansas City Chiefs @ (2-2-0) Indianapolis Colts
No more undefeated teams in the NFL.
(3-1-0) Green Bay Packers @ (2-2-0) Washington Redskins
Aaron Rodgers has a rebound game after a so so performance in Week 4
(2-2-0) St. Louis Rams @ (0-4-0) Detroit Lions
Stafford and Best are going to be Questionable for Detriot. Plus the Rams are facing a defense that cant stop the pass.
(3-1-0) Chicago Bears @ (0-4-0) Carolina Panthers
The Bears are overrated, plus I hate Cutler. no fan of a player thats a pussy
(2-1-0) Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ (2-2-0) Cincinnati Bengals
TB has made improvments, to if u want me to be a fan then break TO's leg
(3-1-0) Atlanta Falcons @ (1-3-0) Cleveland Browns
Falcons could be the best team that no one talks about.
(2-2-0) New York Giants @ (3-1-0) Houston Texans
Johnson will return for Houston, New York will have its hands full.
(3-1-0) New Orleans Saints @ (2-2-0) Arizona Cardinals
That problem the Saints have had as of late on offense, that will be fixed after this game.
(2-2-0) Tennessee Titans @ (1-2-0) Dallas Cowboys
I dont see Dallas stopping CJ2K
(2-2-0) San Diego Chargers @ (1-3-0) Oakland Raiders
Oakland hasnt been horrible, but the Chargers are just better
(2-2-0) Philadelphia Eagles @ (0-4-0) San Francisco 49ers
This might be worth watching, cause it might be Mike Singletary's last game he coaches.
(1-2-0) Minnesota Vikings @ (3-1-0) New York Jets

This has been a crazy year to start the NFL season, just look at the division races and teams that have had a good start.

NFC West
Who'd thought the Rams would be tied for the division lead 4 weeks into the season, yea its 2-2 but still. Also the 49ers being 0-4 after everyone gave this division to them on a silver platter

NFC North
The Bears and Packers both at 3-1, suprising more cause of the Bears. THe Viks 1-2 and even though they are 0-4 Detriot hasnt been horrible as of late.

NFC South
The Falcons lead this division but no one talks about them. The Saints are 3-1 but havent looked spectacular. The Bucs are 2-1, and the Panthers are well the Panthers.

NFC East.
Eagles, Giants, and Redskins are tied for the division lead at 2-2, and after all that has happened bad for Dallas in 3 games they are only 1 game back.

AFC West
Chiefs lead the division, Chargers look either really good or really bad.

AFC North
Steelers and Ravens are 3-1, didnt expect the Steelers to be 3-1 with big Ben out for 4 weeks. Bengals also a dissapointment so far.

AFC South
Texans have the lead over the Colts by a game with a 3-1 record, and the Colts are 2-2 and havent looked great so far.

AFC East
The Jets are the team to beat, but no one is shocked. But the Dolphins have looked good as well

St. Louis Rams 4-4

Really? Champ Bailey shut out the best wide receiver Reggie Wayne currently in the NFL this season. I can only imagine what his numbers would look like right now if it wasn't for Champ.

Champ Bailey and Perrish Cox will have an answer to that threat..... If Denver get's beat it won't be thru the air.

I agree the Falcons could easily be one of the best in the NFL at the moment but not by a long shot. For sure though they are underrated.

I don't see Dallas stopping him either.... Dallas usually doesn't fair to well against speedy backs from what I've seen before.

LMFAO! It never ends for you, does it?

Reggie Wayne is NOT the best receiver in the NFL. Andre Johnson is. Yes, Wayne might currently hold the lead statistically, but that doesn't mean he is the best receiver in the NFL. It means he has the most receiving yards, so far. I wouldn't even put Reggie in Top 5.

And yes, Champ kept Wayne quiet. It's a good thing Peyton has more than one receiver to throw to. Looks like Denver forgot completely about that Austin Collie guy. To the tune of 12 catches for 171 yards.

Shutting down ONE receiver, while giving close to 200 yards to another receiver, is FAR from impressive. Jesus Christ, man. Get the cock out of your mouth.

you're fucking stupid bcoop once again.

I stated currently statistically he is the best WR thru 4 weeks of football, are you really arguing this? Cause I do believe you just said Andre Johnson is the best and it's undisputed from the looks of your post.

Bcoop put $100 on Ravens.

Lol at you wouldn't even put Reggie in top 5 LOL that right there proves to me you don't know a whole lot about football.... Why don't you get someones cock out of your ass?

He is leading in yards and total receptions at the moment.

No, you didn't. You said he is the best receiver in the NFL currently, and he's not. Lead in statistics? Yes. There is more to it than that.

Yes, Andre Johnson is the best receiver in the NFL. Period. End of Story.

aside from the bullshit you try and start bcoop I stated in my post the Reggie Wayne got shut out by Champ Bailey..... I didn't say a single word about any other corner back on Denver. We had injuries and it was Perrish Cox first start ever. He has improved greatly and I'm pretty sure he'll be ready come next Sunday.

Would you like to make a little wager? I'll take the Denver Broncos beating the Baltimore Ravens..... $100.

K, sealed and signed buddy.

$100 says Denver beats Baltimore.

I'm curious though who is in your top 5 for WR? Since Reggie Wayne doesn't make that list.

Come on man! Are you serious? I said "Really? Champ Bailey shut out the best wide receiver Reggie Wayne currently in the NFL this season. I can only imagine what his numbers would look like right now if it wasn't for Champ"

I'm going by statistics of course.... Reggie Wayne leads in yards and receptions.
Game against Denver he only caught 4 passes for 65 yards. I wonder what his numbers would look like right now if he would have had a good game.

Reggie Wayne currently has 33 catches for 456 yards and 2 touchdowns.

I see Champ shutting his guy down, but who will have an answer for Derrick Mason and TJ Whosyourmamma? If Pittsburgh cant stop those guys then how will Denver?

4 catches for 65 yards isn't exactly shutting someone down, either.

I'd put Reggie somewhere between 8 and 11. His age, and the fact that Peyton spreads the ball around has hurt his career numbers. Ask anyone that has ever owned him in a fantasy league their opinion on RW. He's ok, but inconsistent (sometimes his fault, sometimes not due to game play deciding where the ball goes). And he never puts up big numbers, like the top receivers do.

Houshmantaliban was a non-issue until the last drive, and probably wouldn't have been an issue had Polomalu not blitzed, which allowed for the TD. Mason wasn't a big issue either -- he had one catch over 12 yards, from what I remember.

Mason had 6 for 80, FWIW.

Housh had 3 for 49 and a TD. They had decent days. I don't agree completely with what he said, but thats a good day for Mason

Congrats, but I still really do think Johnson will rush for over 100 yards..... Or at least receiving catching out of the back field that sort of thing.

We will see, I was just letting you know you were wrong about them always getting burned by speed backs. Truth is, they rarely get burned by ANY running backs.

How about screens and such? Not every speedy back just takes the hand off, a lot of them make receptions as well.

Probably will have to determine the best by winning percentage at end of year. Everyone will probably miss picking a week.

I think that's really the only fair way to do it, unless he just wants to go back and eliminate everyone that didn't pick every week. By the list he posted, I'm in 8th, but had I even picked 50% in week 1 (8-8), I'd be in 2nd.

And again, man, last week really, really fucked me. Too many fucking upsets. I was on a pretty good roll before all the upsets.

I'm really not sure how I plan on doing it yet..... I'm not going to eliminate people who didn't pick a certain week so no worries there.

Probably do what mstng86 suggested and do it by percentage to be fair.

If people keep on coming in with a tie I plan on having people just pick a total for points on Monday Night games and have that declare a true winner.

I'm thinking with their backs against the wall, season on the line, etc; they come out swinging, much like the Cowboys did with the Texans.

Maybe, but I am hedging my bet on the Jets D keeping Favre on his toes. That defense is pretty good at pressuring the QB. I see it every week in my fantasy league. They are constantly getting sacks and turnovers.
