Rangers 2010 Postseason Thread

After today's clinch it's time to look ahead to the post season.

It's going to be NY or Tampa Bay in the first round.

I think the Yankees are actually a better match up for us but we'll see.

I think Rangers take it in 6 against the Yankees or 7 against the Rays, but who knows.

Division Series are 5 games. Hopefully they take it before Game 6 or they're screwed.

That's what I thought too but wasn't going to say anything cause I wasn't for sure.

haha, blonde moment I guess. Knock 2 games off of each series, 4 and 5, respectively.

As long as Cliff Lee brings his A game we should sail through the first series no matter who it's against.

I prefer the Yankees. Lee pitches well against them and Rivera is a little jinxed by us. Plus, lately their rotation has some cracks in it.

It's going to take more than just one pitcher, or pitching in general.

I DO NOT want to see them face the Rays. I think their pitching is better than the Yanks. At least against us they are.

I have been none to impressed with Lee since we traded for him.

With the clinch, I'd like to see them give Cliff some extra rest before the ALDS.

Rangers in 5 against the Yanks. Rays in 4 in that series. Unless Lee shuts out the Rays in game 1, I think we come back down 2-0 and it's just gonna be too hard to get off the mat at that point.

Rangers alter rotation to get set for playoffs

Lee pushed back to receive full five days' rest before Game 1

By T.R. Sullivan / MLB.com | 09/26/10 8:45 PM ET

OAKLAND -- The Rangers rearranged their rotation for the final seven games of the regular season. They are trying to line up their pitching for the playoffs while getting key pitchers some extra rest.

C.J. Wilson is still starting on Monday against the Mariners, but he will be followed by Scott Feldman on Tuesday and Rich Harden on Wednesday.

Cliff Lee was supposed to pitch Tuesday, but he'll be pushed back to Thursday to face the Angels in the first of a four-game series. That will get him lined up to start Game 1 of the division series on five days' rest.

Derek Holland will pitch on Friday against the Angels, followed by Wilson on Saturday and Colby Lewis on Sunday. Wilson is scheduled to pitch Game 2 of the playoffs and Lewis is pitching Game 3.

Tommy Hunter is not scheduled to start this week, but he will be in the bullpen -- where he will likely be used during the first round of the playoffs, unless the Rangers need a fourth starter.

True but in a best of 5 series they'll see him twice and CJ once, that should be 3 games where the pitching gets you 70% of the way to a win.
