Official Fantasy Recommendations Thread

My question of the day:

Michael Turner against the Steelers' defense?
or
Johnathon Stewart against the Giants'?

That is a tough one. I say go with Stewart. It is almost a guarantee the steelers defense will be stout. The Giants can be up and down.

What do you guys think? Lee Evans against Miami D, or Hines Ward against Atlanta D? I am leaning towards evans or I have Eddie Royal against Jacksonville.

I went ahead and started Stewart mainly because of the Pittsburgh defense.

I really wish I would have played Massaquoi instead of sitting him due injury - I through Steve Smith was a better choice, but I'm losing confidence in that move.

Had to be better than Turner so far. Turner probably has -5 or so.

Stewart may have around 10-15 yards. Deangelo Williams is getting most of the carries, and the Giants run D is actually pretty strong so far.

Yep, I was hoping he would be a threat again after getting hurt last year and I was able to pick him up in all of my fantasy leagues.

You have to be wanting to shoot yourself. You have to be watching the most boring game this weekend. I need Mendenhall to wake up.

Maybe if the O-line would wake the fuck up and actually give him a hole to run through he might have a chance. Otherwise he's just going to keep getting 2 and 3 yards a carry.

200+ and now 3 tds. Sonofabitch. I drafted him, but sat him because I wanted to see a little from him first. He's good for 45ish points in the league I have him in. The entire rest of my team has scored 46 so far. Mother of fuck.

this is the 2nd lowest matchup in our league. i shouldve started Sanchez. Dallas D shut down Skins passing game. These were the best picks for getting 14th.

trade help

i am making a trade to aquire a #3 RB:

the question is which one:
Javid Best (RB DET)
Darren McFadden (RB OAK)

Best is the #1 back in detriot. now that matthew stafford is broke. they will run a bit more.
McFadden did great in game 1 but bush was out. oakland is IMO in an easier defensive division.

i'm leaning toward Best right now. either way, my trade price is the same (my backup QB david gerard who i just picked up in FA!).

I would go with best. He really doesn't have much to share with as far as carries goes, and Stafford being hurt will limit the passing game.

Mcfadden has proved nothing to me. He is too injury prone, and he is sharing time with Bush. Oakland does run well though.

yea, when bush comes back i think they will be splitting time which will hurt mcfadden.

game 1 stats:
best
14 att/20 yds 2 tds rushing
5 rec/16 yds receiving

mcfadden
18 att/95 yards rushing
6 rec/55 yards 1 td receiving

Has Frank Gore ever payed off for anybody? He's always a top 20 pick, yet in the two times I've had him, he hasn't done dick. This year doesn't look much better so far either.

yea, he has been mediocre on average but last year was easily his best. 1100 yards, 10 tds.

Last year he got hurt and I'm not sure if that has affected him mentally or what, but until then he had been a solid #2 spot RB for fantasy football. I think the biggest problem is that Alex Smith is not the type of QB SF needs and they'll never get respect down the field without someone better under center. Until then, I think teams will keep stacking the box and playing the run while letting their corners and saftys play man coverage and let Smith make the same mistakes he is known for.

okay this is who i picked up this week on my teams and I think you should look into these guys.

Mark Clayton WR St. Louis Rams - Clayton had 10 catches for around 120 yards in Week 1. He is going to be the #1 receiver for the Rams and he and Bradford have some chemistry being former OU players and have playing time in practice while both was in college.

Brandon Jackson RB Green Bay Packers - With Ryan Grant out it looks like the Packers are going to have him as the RB for now. They are playing the Bills this week so look into him if you need a RB.

Austin Collie WR Indianapolis Cots - He had a nice Week 1 and now Gonzalez is out with an injury so look for him to a steady target for Manning.

Also I picked these up as well. I needed a backup defense so I got the Rams, they had 18 points on NFL.com with 2 fumbles and 2 fumble recoverys. Also 2 sacks and pressured Anderson in the 2nd Half.

Anyone leaning on Micheal Vick as starter? It has been said that he will start against the Lions.

The Rams are playing Oakland so there is no telling what kind of gifts they may be given this Sunday.

Vick is the only option they have as a starter if they want a chance to win, or at least be competitive, unless they're going to throw Mike Kafka to wolves, which is highly unlikely unless Vick were to get hurt. I don't see how Kolb would even be on the roster to play this week after they claimed he had a concussion last week, not that he really proved much when he was on the field.

I like the lineup except Cedric Benson going against the Ravens. The Ravens shutdown the Jets on monday who was the #1 running team last year. but you got my main man Jamaal Charles. As for your opponet. Fitzgerald and Anderson didnt get timing down in Week 1, and if he does start Dez Bryant maybe he has one of those rookie oops games.

i agree this is a hard pick but id rather go with Hassellbeck. He looked good against the 49ers, like the Hassellbeck of the old. He has receivers that can make plays. Palmer I think will be pressured by the Ravens all game long

yup. i gave the guy his choice of best or mcfadden. he picked best so it's on him.

i left him on the bench this week. i did miss out on a good chunk of points but i've got this week won. cant make that mistake next week, im playing someone who put up 180 now 150.

I was up against someon who had McNabb and his monster game destroyed me. McNabb alone accounted for over 50% of his points. Didn't help that Massaquoi was a virtual nobody this week, but if McNaab had an average game of 30, maybe 40 pts I woulda pulled it out - but alas, I'm 0-2 so far and it aint looking good.

motherfucking colts defense shut down the Gayiants. Penalties screwed me over with Steve Smith. So did my fucking kicker. And the fucking Patriots defense had given me 12 points and then the Jets scored and i lost points!!!!! if it wasnt for those three things i wouldve owned my opponens ass. oh well im 1-1, im matched up with my best friend and i want to whip his ass in week 3. hes been running his mouth since week 1.

Shiat, 5 points for Carson Palmer. FIVE points!!! I will make sure to bench whatever player is playing Baltimore from now on. Everyone else pulled through, except for Ryan Mathews. What happened to him? did he get hurt.

maybe stick with kasey, in week 1 he had 12 points against the Giants. On the otherhand maybe switching wouldnt be a bad idea with Clausen starting.
