Addai pays off in Houston: Colts RB Joseph Addai enters his Week 1 contest in Houston with a pretty solid track record against the Texans. The Colts have gone 7-1 against the Texans with Addai on the roster and he has scored more rushing touchdowns (6) against Houston than against any other franchise in the NFL. That said, he also has played more games (8) against them than any other team. Addai also has a career-high 23 catches against Houston with three receiving touchdowns. Last season, in Houston, Addai rushed 15 times for 69 yards without a score.
Houston was middle of the pack against the run last season, allowing 106.9 yards per game on the ground. That said, Addai has 12 career touchdowns against the Texans over eight games and that gives us reason to believe he will find the end zone at least once in Week 1. You can expect him to lose more carries to Donald Brown this season but Addai looked to be in midseason form during the preseason and should be a solid option for Fantasy owners. Consider Addai to be just outside the top 12 Fantasy RBs to use Week 1. He is a No. 2 Fantasy RB with upside against the Texans.
